To explain, I got a ball jointed doll and wanted it to look kinda like me. I got the last part (the hair) to day so we took pictures! And Danny wanted to edit them. I suspect you'll see the edited ones pop up soon - well other than my pfp. 🤭 Anyway, here she issssss
So, I saw these posable paper dolls and I thought, oh cool! But what if, posable monster can dolls? Danny drinks a lot of monster and the designs on the cans are pretty so I figured it'd fuel my artistic endeavors. So I cut up two of the original flavor cans for prototyping.
I put the outline on the design side because the silver side gives a blank slate which you can put the clothing or whatever on from the other cans. It makes it less overstimulating, though if you WANTED the design side as the "skin", it wouldn't be a problem. And since I had no sharpie, I used an oil pastel crayon.
Chop chop.
I didn't really like this. It gave me an idea of what would need to change though. The head is good and the torso's okay but the rest would need to be bigger and probably a different shape. But I also wanted to try a non-posable doll.
I like this one better. Though...it was sticky. I forgot to boil (yes, boil, take it up with Danny, he suggested it) the sheet before I used it. I had rinsed it off though. ANYWAY, there's still some issues but its okay. Discovery.
Ideally, the goal is to make different customizable clothing, hair, eyes and what not and attach it, but I don't have anything I can use to attach things. The hairstyles would probably have the pieces sown together because I think that'd look cool.
Annnnd I decided to try another thing. The can bottoms, granted you sand down or cover the sharp edges (thinking fabric or really close threading), could make beautiful keychains. So I did this one.
It was supposed to be a flower. But I think it lools okay for what it is. Oil pastels are tricky on paper. Trickier on metal. I think using paint would be better but we're lacking in our desired art supplies. I would also like to use thread in these too to emphasize some lines, maybe do a little braid around the border and give some sort of tactile feel. In the case of oil pastels, it'd also preserve the pattern, in case of smudging.
I also wanna make earrings with the cans, and do something with the tops but I haven't figured out the best way.
I tell Danny that a lot. He doesn't fully understand the depth of what I myself mean when I say it, because he doesn't understand emotional responses fully. He doesn't feel love or any kind of affection anywhere close to how I, or most others do.
He stares at me for about seven seconds. His head is tilted a few degrees to the side. He studies my face. He's thinking. Possibly about my current motivation and reason for expressing affection, or more likely about how he wants to respond back. His expression is open. Calm, relaxed. Not skeptical or suspicious. He's being open with me, not hiding. In a good mood today.
I flash him a bright smile.
A few moments later, he smiles back - small, almost like he's unsure, like his body doesn't quite know how to do it without some sort of darker humor or ill intent under the surface. "I love you too," He says back, making direct eye contact with me.
It surprises me everytime he says it. He doesn't very often, but it's nice to hear. Then he rests his head on my shoulder and pulls up an anime we've started watching. It's a favorite of Rune's and I like it. I ask if he's sure he can handle cute magical girl things and he rolls his eyes at me.
Well, if it so happens that the oh so great and legendary Ghostface likes it... I won't complain.
I think a DBD killer who actually uses song would be cool. Rune and I've been thinking on it. Danny helps a little. We have the Krasue who was a musician and Trickster and MiNA but no one who really uses their voice to inflict damage. We'll think on it more.
This is turning less into a fog fact as this is just me rambling about my boyfriend. Anyways, he has nicknames for most survivors and killers.
His nickname for me is my username. He calls me "little spider", I call him "little ghost". hehehe. Currently I only know the nicknames for a few of the killers and one other survivor.
This is a clip from a round of Danny playing as himself. We would have put the full round but parts of the video lagged badly so we can't. Anyway, I swear this man is part bloodhound sometimes.
Being in a system with an autistic host is so funny. What do you mean their stims pass onto us. Why did I just hear a 28 year old man from the 80's say "holy fuckin' air ball"
My favorite thing that the majority of Danny Johnson fans (myself included) do in fanfiction is that he uses ‘doll’ or ‘dollface’ as a petname. Imo, I think it’s pretty gender neutral, and it lowkey fits his aesthetic.
If your Danny uses a different primary pet name, please share, I’m genuinely curious :3
He uses doll too for us! He also slips in southern nicknames occasionally. His other most common term is darlin' and he uses love with me (when he's not calling me the nickname he uses specifically for me). Its mostly prominent when he's playing DBD (specifically as himself) and he's in a relatively good mood. Usually that translates to him mumbling "sorry, love" when hitting/downing survivors and hooking them. 😆
To add on, because I forgot: usually, our accents don't show up too much. Mine...does, sort of? I don't know how to describe my voice but I sound like I do in the game, all the time. However HIS accent (southern) only comes out when he's mad. It's funny. Terrifying, but funny. If you wanna imagine it, go to his Tome lore (13 - Malevolence) and read the parts where he's talking angrily in a thick southern accent. Free entertainment!
