Welcome to the one episode of TMA per day blog!

***UPDATE FROM MAY 15TH, 2023: The relisten has officially ended, you are welcome to have a look at our closing post here or start from the beginning of the relisten here***

This is an endeavor to create a community listen of The Magnus Archives by listening to one episode per day (chronologically, including trailers, canon bonus content and the live show, not including fluff episodes and Q&As) starting on October 18, 2022.

How does it work? Every day starting from October 18, 2022 an opening post (at 8AM London time) will announce the episode of that day and asks/submissions will be open for people to post anything regarding that day's episode.

After a new day begins asks and tagged posts for the previous episode will close and only content for the new episode will be shared.

How do submissions work? You can send an ask, send a submission or tag the blog and it shall be posted!

We will consider a tagged post as permission to reblog so even if we see a post about that day's episode, if it didn't tag the blog we will not share it.

We work with a queue system so as to spread out the posts overtime so if we don't answer or reblog right away don't worry it's in the queue!

Modding this blog is a lot of work and unfortunately it leaves us no time to ID images. If you share images please do your best to ID them. We also recommend copy pasting quotes rather than screenshotting them.

*Anonymous asks are purposefully turned off in order to cultivate an active community and dynamic discussions in the notes :)

Anything? Reactions, nostalgia, memes, art, meta, insight, fic you name it, so long as it has to do with the episode of the day!

In addition, if you have or know about past art for the daily episode please tag us! We'd love to share as much episodic art as we can.

Is there anything we should avoid?

This will be a sfw blog, so no nsfw content please. Horror art will be allowed (it is a horror podcast after all) and will be tagged with the proper tw's accordingly.

We do ask to refrain from sending overly long asks. If what you want to share seems to run too long, please instead create your own post, use the :readmore: function and tag us so we can share it without worrying about clogging people's feeds.

We ask you to refrain from sending heavy and personal asks with difficult subjects (such as illnesses, eating disorders, overly personal details, etc.) so we can keep this relisten as lighthearted and comfortable for everyone as possible.

In addition, no fandom discourse, overtly negative or controversial topics will be published and outright character hate is also discouraged, we want to keep this relisten lighthearted and fun for everyone :D

I'm a new listener, can I join as well? For new listeners who wish to join, spoilers past the current listening episode are allowed but will be tagged "#tma spoilers" for your consideration.

I don't want to actually listen to episodes, what should I do? You can still enjoy the content people produce for that day! You can listen to random episodes or only your favorite episodes! You can sit at your desk at work and daydream about Jon and cats! This is a Mr. Spider free domain you can do whatever you like!

Omg that sounds like an awesome idea! This blog is pretty dormant and not the same fandom so I'm not sure how well it'll serve as a place for promotion, but I personally would love to hear about the blog when it's created! Happy that this idea is inspiring other community rewatches!

Well, this blog's daily TMA relisten was done quite a bit after tma was fully over.

In order to do an episode a day for TMAGP it would need to be fully completed and that won't be anytime soon.

I am definitely all for doing a daily relisten in a few years' time when we already have the whole series, provided we are all still in the fandom <3

TMA Appreciaton Week II is a prompt week to celebrate the Magnus Archives, the people behind it, and the fandom memories that have been created. TMA’s narrative structure and its reflection in character dynamics

With the end of @a-mag-a-day, I though it would be a perfect time to post this meta-analysis I’ve been thinking about for ages! Its always fun when a story’s ending wraps back around to its beginning in some way, and TMA dips into this a tiny bit via the “can I have a cigarette” moment, but I think the wider narrative structure and parallels in TMA actually get way more interesting than that. Long rambly analysis below cause I’m a writing nerd, and also remember this is purely my own personal interpretation.

This fic did get recced (recked?) already, but it was part of a batch, so I would like to give it its own post for emphasis because it absolutely deserves it: we should ride this wave to shore by @clarionglass! It’s a chatfic (of which multiple people have said “I’m not usually into chatfics, but”) and an Everyone Is Friends/Nobody Dies AU, which was apparently only supposed to be a couple chapters long but got completely out of hand and accidentally developed a remarkably coherent plot with a really satisfying conclusion! I heartily recommend it for post-200 recovery.

(Also, anyone who hasn’t listened to the Mechanisms before, go listen to the Mechanisms.)
