I am not mad but curious as to how showers function inadequately in america compared to what youre used to /genuine curiosity

i was so worried that someone would ask bc now i have to remember the specifics but as much as i can remember (tho to be fair ive only been to GA and TX? maybe it’s regional???). the whole like. pressure and temp being controlled on the same scale? like one place i stayed, there was one round knob and it was like. initially low pressure + cold water but as u turned the water got hotter AND increased in pressure?? but like. U had to like sandblast to get it hot enough/maybe im remembering the opposite and for it to be tolerably warm but not scalding it had to be an insipid little dribble? but then also the other place i stayed it was like. One pressure knob one temp knob which i guess is not all that outlandish. But what was outlandish. Was the fact that, for reasons unknown to me, the fucking bathtub. Had been. Painted? like someone had for some fucking reason slapped a couple of coats of landlord white on that badboy. And for what.

One cold one hot. u adjust specific temp and pressure mostly by feel + fine adjustment.#but bc they’re separate knobs it’s a bit easier #last place my wife and i lived the hot was very low pressure but VERY hot (our water heater was technically set illegally high)#so u would kinda turn the hot on full bore #then gently tap the cold. like an archaeologist. to achieve an actually comfy temp #also like. from what travel ive done in the rest of the world #i have yet to see a system that more closely resembles the american ones than the ones im used to
