Yuri and Mila have sleep overs every Saturday night when they are in town.

Scene: Yuri and Mila are in his bedroom at Lilia’s House, bundled up on his bed a movie playing loudly in the background.

Mila: “How big are we talking here?” She holds up a Banana “Like this?”

Yuri, giggles, extending his hand out past the fruit and smirks: “Thicker”

Mila falls back on the bed giggling and kicking her feet: “I knew it! Georgi and Victor wouldn’t tell me!”

Yuri: “Hands off! You have a French model!”

Mila smiling dreamily: “Yes I do. But sadly the only thing he’s good with is his tongue.”

Yuri pouts: “Otabek needs work there… JJ was better.”

Mila, raising an eye brow: “Was he now… We sure he’s off the market? Maybe you could get him to give Otabek lessons?” She wiggles her eyebrows.

Yuri, shaking his head: “I can’t handle them both at once… They’d turn me into a ragdoll.”

Mila giggling again: “Oh but what a cute ragdoll you’d make!”

Yuri throws a pillow at her.

This has been going on since Yuri was 13 and continues wells into his late teens. Even after they both move, they do it over skype if they have to. Otabek simply accepts his sex life is a open book when it comes to those two.

They couldn’t be true. Not the monsters, not the promises of gold and silver, and definitely not the idea that life had a second chance.

When the cup of water in Yakov’s hand turned to wine at a single command, he couldn’t ignore the myths and stories anymore. Yakov, himself, was a legend walking on the edge of reality because of his ability. His ability to change and create things at a single command garnered the interest of those outside his immediate family, but Yakov did his best to smudge the fame that strangers recognized him for. To be different, to feel the need to hide to avoid social abuses, was what hardened Yakov’s heart against the myths that proved themselves to be true.

In his late age when retirement was upon his shoulders, Yakov housed two legends underneath his roof. The first was a quirky siren with a soul pouch against her chest. The second was a wayward mer with a heart as precious as gold.
