Kris watching Blue Ears' honest but misguided attempt at friendship with someone he really liked fail due to a big load-bearing lie and a dishonest scheme he was forced to participate in by someone who convinced him was honestly the right thing to do, but just put his friend in an incredibly unfortunate position and seemingly no honest explanation or confession was able to stop that friend from just being incredibly hurt and pissed about the whole thing and possibly ruin their relationship forever: …………………. well this sucks but it's a good thing nothing is this situation is absolutely not in any way relevant to my life at all right now haha haha

And what would be the point of the story saying, "It was you everyone saw because you controlled Kris--it was Kris who was being stifled," when it's really Kris everyone sees--their face, their voice, their mannerisms, their Kris-ness--and to whom everyone attributes our kindness? Nobody knows us a damn bit--the only people who even have a glimpse of who we truly are are Gaster and Kris, themself, because they know which choices we've been making. And the choices aren't even the parts that make you "you"--the limited options the game gives you are still externalized through the Kris-filter. The majority of the time, we don't even know which ones Kris would prefer. Kris has the most control in our relationship, even though they let us steer them around, so if anyone is stifling Kris, it's Kris, themself. The game asking you to erase yourself because Kris needs to be themselves would be so unfair and contrary to its own themes when you weren't the one to put yourself in Kris's chest.
