"Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas" manga series by Kurumada Masami and Teshirogi Shiori is on cover of Champion Red issue 04/2026

This manga tells the story of the previous Holy War, taking place in the 18th century, 250 years before the original series, in the Saint Seiya universe. The story centers on the relation between Tenma, the Pegasus Saint and his beloved friend, Alone, who would eventually become his greatest enemy, Hades. The story takes place in the same time period as Saint Seiya Next Dimension.

How did Riku talking about Slapping Sora awake get translated to

It's so funny that he talks about it casually with Donald Goofy and Mickey right before taking the dive a second time.

And the gestures look like ah yes he's showing how he might slap him, but in the English version THEY ACTUALLY EDITED SO HE DOESN'T SWUNG HIS HAND ALL THE WAY 😭😭

Another inaccurate translation on the khinsider video:

The first line actually says more along the lines of “To protect his dear friend,”

大切な友  is “important/dear friend” ( 大切な being “important”, 友 being “friend”-singular)  and を守る is “to protect”.

The second line is accurate enough.  But also something like “Riku would choose that path every single time no matter what, and he continued down it.”

What IS the necklace theory in relation to soriku? I’ve never heard of it before.

Ohohohohoho  :)))  Are you ready to do some reading?  I’ll give you a short summary first, but if you want the full impact I’d recommend reading through the links when you feel like it:

Basically my theory is that Riku is the one who gave Sora his crown necklace and that Namine used that memory as the main tool for manipulating Sora and Repliku in Chain of Memories.  With this theory, this means that in the true memory, Riku gave Sora the crown necklace as a sort of lucky charm, a reassurance of his promise to Sora that he’d always protect him.  This memory would have taken place on the night of the meteor shower that brought Kairi to Destiny Islands when they were 5/6 years old.
