“Kevin.” Jean’s voice is careful. “You’re drunk.”
“I know.” There’s no shame in it. Just honesty. “But I’m also being honest.”
“You need to stop.”
Silence. A pause where Jean thinks, maybe, it’s over.
Then, “I want you,” Kevin whispers.
Jean’s stomach flips. He stares at the wall like it might offer him an exit. His voice is quiet, firm.
“Kevin. You’re young. You’re scared. And you’re drunk. I am too old for you, and you shouldn’t feel this way.”
“I do, though.”
Jean closes his eyes. “You won’t in the morning.”
