Sometimes I forget the point of art but then I think of
you.
a clear weighted line
dragging down to the bottom
but against the flow
i feel a stranger in my own native home
the questions they ask with their eyes
the feelings they express with sighs
i answer what i can with the words I had planned
and yet my words come out harsh
or indifferent to their worth
and so we sit in silence till
we all start talking nonsense again
so apparently formatting is no longer allowed on posts, so my last poem is not in the shape i intended. The top half is a coffee machine and the bottom is a cup and table but anyway
Morning Coffee

when you are a child
you strive to help the adult you will become
when you are an adult
you live for the child that strived
it stood between them
those two stoic neighbors
who themselves had stood a millennia in stone
weathered only by the changing tides of it which lied below,
a stream, tiny from the top of either their sheltered peaks
flowing in the state which gave them all form
and guided by the gravity of everything which was before
It never stopped, it never grew, it simply was in its inevitable sloughs
a constant in these giants lives.
Where upon one day the peak of one giant looked across
and coveted their neighbors beds of color which peppered their cheeks
poppies and chamomile against the green green grasses of spring
perfect perennials, rich in their deep soil
and abscent in their brothers fields
and so the peak began to roll
at first in a slow stroll
but soon it began to tear the rest of itself down
boulders and pebbles and grasses and knolls
till its bottoms fell out and it met its own littorals
the river which ran for millions of years
was now blocked by the mountain on top, which was no more
and all that was left was a dam in the abscent middle
which made sure that the water rose
till the flowers dwindled
and died
there are many reasons I hate AI, but one that I think is nails to the chalkboard of society is the AI narrators of stolen videos and film clips. It is the most grating and uninspired middle school presentation of an act.
"I started by.... next i....and you wont believe what happens next...when all was said and done..."
"The girl was a....suddenly, she noticed....what she did next surprised everybody, because....follow for more."
Theres a spot in hell for all of AI generators, but if there is a god, he'll Clockwork Orange the whole lot of them to watch all these bores on repeat for the rest of eternity.

you cannot create a peaceful existence outside a vacuum. Humanity will always fester in the places you arent looking and from there the experiment will end and the corruption will begin.
mirrors mirroring mirrors
reflections upon reflection
imitations of imitation
what feels fresh now
is already ripped apart
stripped of parts
gutted for its arts
and then left
where they ares
by the time that is now
we will all be copied
onto clouds of pro-fitted delite!
spread far and wide
left without now
living in the then
till futures end
when everything is
as it was
again
in the darkest cave
the smallest illuminant
brings torrential joy

The other night husband and I were watching a documentary about the yeti where they were doing DNA analysis of samples of supposed yeti fur, and every one of them came back as bears.
Anyway, the next night we watched a thing about some pig man who is supposed to live in Vermont. People said it had claws and a pig nose but walked upright like a man. Now, I happen to know that sideshows used to shave bears and present them as pig men. So every piece of evidence they gave of this monster sounds to me like a bear with mange.
So now the running joke in our house is that everything is bears. Aliens? Bears. Loch Ness monster? Bear. Every cryptozoological mystery is just a very crafty bear.
Bears. They’re everywhere. Be wary. Anyone or anything could be a bear.
oh shit
As the OP of this post, I’m going to threaten that if this gets to one million notes by the 10 year anniversary on 1 June 2026, one year from today, I will get a lower back tattoo of the loch ness bear monster.
Y'all know what to do Tumblr.
I love animation history and one of the things that always baffled me was how did animators draw the cars in 101 Dalmatians before the advent of computer graphics?
Any rigid solid object is extremely challenging for 2D artists to animate because if one stray line isn’t kept perfectly in check, the object will seem to wobble and shift unnaturally.
Even as early as the mid 80’s Disney was using a technique where they would animate a 3D object and then apply a 2D filter to it. This practice could be applied to any solid object a character interacts with: from lanterns a character is holding, to a book (like in Atlantis), or in the most extreme cases Cybernetic parts (like in Treasure Planet).
But 101 Dalmatians was made WAY before the advent of this technology. So how did they do the Cruella car chase sequence at the end of the film?
The answer is so simple I don’t know why it didn’t occur to me sooner:
They just BUILT the models and painted them white with black outlines 🤣
That was the trick. They’re not actually 2D animated, they’re stop motion. They were physical models painted white and filmed on a white background. The black outlines become the lineart lines and they just xeroxed the frame onto an animation cel and painted it like any other 2D animated frame.
That’s how they did it! Isn’t that amazing? It’s such a simple low tech solution but it looks so cool in the final product.
@transparent-plastic-robotgirl check it out
omg that's cool as heck!!! 🌸
