Somebody commenting this weekend on Alastor's ridiculous 'wtf am i coming down with something' reaction to having very well-justified feelings in chapter 21 reminds me. We need some more appreciation for Alastor's extreme state of delusion about how relieved he is that Mimzy (a) turned up again and (b) isn't holding a grudge. This motherfucker is white-knuckling against the urge to just fall on the floor and cry about it for the entire term of her arrival.

Mimzy is a mirage. A miraculous sighting of a resource that is badly needed in a desperate situation.

Alastor is like "I'm really happy about this but like in a normal way, not in a 'holy fuck I had no idea how scared I was that I completely decimated this relationship' way." Avoidant attachment final boss.

Then Mimzy talks a ton of shit about the hotel and/or tries to torture it, and Alastor is like. I am going to die of support. cause of death: friend showed up and is on my side about things. He is overwrought.

And Alastor, guy who thinks apologies are bullshit and talk is cheap and actions speak volumes is like. I need to say sorry. Someone remind me how the fucking song goes.

the worst oc i ever made was a dc oc i came up with in middle school. her deal was that whenever she died she just got better. like she’d wake up in an hour and be fine. it depended on how she died, quicker and cleaner meant she’d be better faster. idk i didn’t think through all the details because the reason this character was terrible was that her solution to every problem was to kill herself. she traumatized like ten different heroes because they were trying to save her from something and she just went “nah” and shot herself in the head. i don’t remember what made this seem like a good idea for an oc. probably depression. don’t make ocs when you’re depressed.
