Using 'house' to refer to a line of nobility is the correct thing to do, and it works as well for my setting since it's from Old English... but I am so burned out on fantasy settings use 'house' to refer to noble families, especially when they really don't get into the intermarriage stuff (House of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld, for a real example), and it also reminds me too much of my time in school.
