The Opals - You Can’t Hurt Me No More (1964)
Curtis Mayfield had so many great tunes that he could give them away - this one to the Opals, a Chicago girl group. I’m not sure who recorded it first, Gene Chandler or the Opals, but both versions are really good.

(A silly revisited comic based on the silly thoughts i used to have when I was little. This was originally made in 2017 for my first zine, with another comic and storytelling,,, and I made like ten copies lol so barely anyone saw it)
durutti is that rare group i can still listen to and feel joy with despite having listened to them so intensely (for a while, exclusively!) during a very bad time. vini reilly’s music always makes me capable of appreciating beauty again
i love the durutti column so much, still
