If you think Remmick's behavior in Sinners towards Sammie was in any way queer or motivated by sexual attraction, boy do I got a book you'll love!!
Join your fellow centuries of believers as you learn the racist history of white people (yes, the women too!) taking advantage of their enslaved Black victims' bodies in any way they saw fit, because they had a psychosexual obsession with the power they held over them! I'm sorry, I mean the "enemies to lovers obsessed vampire trope"!
That title is kinda creepy to me.
So is eating Black people both literally and figuratively, my dear

Life if colonization didn’t result in hundreds of pagan and native religions being absolutely demolished and destroyed over time
(Coming from me. The pagan. It is hard to research when all my stone slabs are gone)
(I’m currently reading from a children’s book I got from a library. That is the point I am at) :]

hi friends :) today i had the privilege of speaking at a trans day of remembrance event, and a few people asked me to post the speech i wrote. so here it is!
11/15/25
I will tell you a secret: every trans girl is an older sister.
This is to say that the world is small for us, and small gestures of care mean a lot. This is to say that you should be walking your trans women friends home. We’re city girls, so we might say no, I’ll be fine—I’m so guilty of this myself: why do I say no when people offer me their help? So I’m telling this to myself just as much as I’m telling it to you: Your walking by my side makes me safer 100% of the time, so you’re going to have to insist on it.
Because this is serious for us. How many missing and murdered women and girls would still be here if someone had walked them home?
This is to say, please be a big sister. The world starves us of kindness, of compassion, of comfort. The world keeps us alone, and the only way to fight that is to be present with one another. Do not assume that someone else is looking out for us. Check in on us, say hi, ask us about our thoughts and experiences. Listen to what we say, engage with what we have to say: value our words. Value our thoughts. Value our presence. The things you say about us matter, because a cis voice will always be put in front of a trans woman’s voice. So: say something nice about a trans woman when she's not in the room: you might be the only person who does.
You can’t change the whole world in one day, but please remember that the world is small for us, and you represent more to us than you can know. You always have power. You always have the power to show someone kindness. You always have the power to be a friend.
So please, let us be sacred to you while we are alive.
I’ve been a big sister for just about my whole life, and I’ll tell you a secret. The world hates to see a big sister coming. That’s because sisters don’t let demons win. Thank you.
“I’ve been a massage therapist for many years, now. I know what people look like. People have been undressing for me for a long time. I know what you look like: a glance at you, and I can picture pretty well what you’d look like on my table. Let’s start here with what nobody looks like: nobody looks like the people in magazines or movies. Not even models. Nobody. Lean people have a kind of rawboned, unfinished look about them that is very appealing. But they don’t have plump round breasts and plump round asses. You have plump round breasts and a plump round ass, you have a plump round belly and plump round thighs as well. That’s how it works. And that’s very appealing too. Woman have cellulite. All of them. It’s dimply and cute. It’s not a defect. It’s not a health problem. It’s the natural consequence of not consisting of photoshopped pixels, and not having emerged from an airbrush. Men have silly buttocks. Well, if most of your clients are women, anyway. You come to male buttocks and you say – what, this is it? They’re kind of scrawny and the tissue is jumpy because it’s unpadded; you have to dial back the pressure, or they’ll yelp. Adults sag. It doesn’t matter how fit they are. Every decade, an adult sags a little more. All of the tissue hangs a little looser. They wrinkle, too. I don’t know who put about the rumor that just old people wrinkle. You start wrinkling when you start sagging, as soon as you’re all grown up, and the process goes its merry way as long as you live. Which is hopefully a long, long time, right? Everybody on a massage table is beautiful. There are really no exceptions to this rule. At that first long sigh, at that first thought that “I can stop hanging on now, I’m safe” – a luminosity, a glow, begins. Within a few minutes the whole body is radiant with it. It suffuses the room: it suffuses the massage therapist too. People talk about massage therapists being caretakers, and I suppose we are: we like to look after people, and we’re easily moved to tenderness. But to let you in on a secret: I’m in it for the glow. I’ll tell you what people look like, really: they look like flames. Or like the stars, on a clear night in the wilderness.”

thinking about how when you experience a lot of shame in your formative years (indirectly, directly, as abuse or just as an extant part of your environment) it becomes really difficult to be perceived by other people in general. the mere concept of someone watching me do anything, whether it's a totally normal activity or something unfamiliar of embarrassing, whether I'm working in an excel spreadsheet or being horny on main, it just makes my skin crawl and my brain turn to static because I cannot convince myself that it's okay to be seen and experienced. because to exist is to be ashamed and embarrassed of myself, whether I'm failing at something or not, because my instinctive reaction to anyone commenting on ANYTHING I'm doing is to crawl into a hole and die. it's such a bizarre and dehumanizing feeling to just not be able to exist without constantly thinking about how you are being Perceived. ceaseless watcher give me a god damn break.
sorry to put your tags on blast on this insane breach containment post I have since muted, but you're right and you should say it.
It is defeatable. Go for the throat.
