Thinking about how George Eliot wrote in Middlemarch about a woman who distrusts worldly things, longs for a great divine purpose, and is constantly compared to nuns who had mystical experiences, but alas, the days for such things are long past, and so she settles into a small hidden life doing good for her neighbors.
And the very next year was born St. Thérèse of Lisieux, a child who distrusted worldly things, and longed for a great divine purpose like great saints of old, but settled into a life at a cloistered convent where she developed a philosophy that the way to heaven was to do small hidden acts of love for the people around you (and she also had some mystical experiences), and they made her a Doctor of the Church for it.
my plans for the day: skip class and read middlemarch the whole day and....maybe study a bit
middlemarch is such a great book because it shows people having so much love and compassion for the people in their community and the world and it also shows a bunch of annoying people and has a Narrator who says yeah these are your fuckass friends and neighbors you really did get the raw end of the deal but your just as bad as the rest of them

See Lydgate none of this would've happened if you could've come to middlemarch a bit sooner and had somehow made Dorothea fall in love with you! DO YOU SEE IT?????
I love how different forms of art are all obsessed with each other. A book tries to capture the feeling of music, a painting tries to depict a scene in a book, a song tries to paint a picture. And it's always insufficient. No single form of art can encapsulate another form of art and capture the essence of it – but it tries, and its attempts are impossibly compelling. All the forms of art are in love with each other and spend so much time trying to express what makes the other kinds of art so lovely.
So, let's recap the events of the week.
The Indian government released an order giving a mandatory rest period of 48 hours a week for pilots in 2024.
Indigo, an airline giant with around 60% market share, failed to comply until it all came to a head in the end of November 2025.
So, to really avoid compliance it manipulated the government by cancelling 1000s of flights and stranding passengers in airports, causing chaos that was live telecasted and sensationalised.
The Government, spineless as it is, had to withdraw the order which was made with people's safety and pilots' health in mind.
Is this the first time our kattar Hindutva peddling Central Government has folded under pressure from Businessmen? No (see, withdrawal of Digital Competition Bill, 2023)
Will it be the last? No. Because no one cares in India. Attention span of a fucking squirrel these people have

"I asked ChatGPT—"
Well I asked GDT (Guillermo del Toro) and he said some of the most casually unhinged shit I've ever heard. it was beautiful and it fixed me.
I feel like chatgpt came around and everyone immediately forgot what they were doing to get stuff done before. like writing centers, extensions, extra help, templates, office hours, beta readers, random generators, and art and writing prompts have all existed for ages. even if you were cheating there's always been sparknotes, photomath, copying, paying someone else to do it, faking that your grandma died, and whatever. all of that stuff is more reliable and doesn't fuck over the planet. and you might actually learn something
this is not the rolling stone article I want about holding absence 😭
All Ai art is theft.
So disheartened for this band - fuck ai and fuck the idiots that see it as a valid art form.
Ive come across some ai artists / musicians on here and it grosses me out
"what did students do before chatgpt?" well one time i forgot i had a history essay due at my 10am class the morning of so over the course of my 30 minute bus ride to school i awkwardly used by backpack as a desk, sped wrote the essay, and got an A on it.
six months later i re-read the essay prior to the final exam, went 'ohhhh yeah i remember this', got a question on that topic, and aced it.
point being that actually doing the work is how you learn the material and internalize it. ChatGPT can give you a short cut but it won't build you the the muscles.
