Btw, “it’s a pattern worth examining if you only headcannon femmy men as transmasc and butchy women as transfem” and “it’s okay for transmascs to be feminine and transfems to be masculine, and for genderqueer people to see themselves in fiction” are opinions that can and should coexist
Like, it leaves a weird taste in my mouth when fandoms see a pretty boy/guy with traditionally feminine interests/guy with a complicated relationship to men and masculinity and go “oh yeah, he’s the main transmasc HC guy”
BUT, I also AM a pretty femme presenting trans man with traditionally feminine interests and a complex relationship to men and masculinity!!! Of course I want to see myself reflected in media!!!!! I want to uncritically draw my faves with top surgery scars, and I do, but this is a pattern worth analyzing!!!!!!!
Not to mention how rarely these characters are headcannoned as transfem also needs to be examined!!
