irondad and spiderson, the batfam, erasermic, even sbi... they shaped how I came to fundamentally understand care. they made me feel parental love was possible, which was absolutely massive in development years.
those stories taught me that family could be the center of a story, especially as someone who experienced alot of transactional relationships. that a safe adult wasn’t a fantasy, and that the responsibility wasn't always on the kid
(+ adding onto this, the pivot into dead dove is the other side of this coin. at least now I can explore it in media in a safe space, especially as an adult with a different lense.)
