I keep thinking about what Stratt's reaction must’ve been when she first started watching Grace's logs. As in, his very earliest logs, where he'd be this dead-eyes shell of a man saying he barely remembers who he is or what the mission is and he's all alone surrounded by corpses and can you imagine.

I don’t think the movie ever clarified it, but she gave him that amnesia intentionally to ensure he wouldn’t sabotage the mission (which he threatened to do, by the way). She was relying on there being two other people around to get him up to speed. And instead she finds out he was all alone, from the start, with no idea why, lacking the support he needed to save the world. Did she have a moment of thinking all those logs he sent wouldn’t contain the solution at all, but just be the diary of a spiraling man losing his mind in space?

And then, Rocky.
