Little introductions~

Here's a bit about all four of us in our funky little "daemon system".

Lore is thoughtful and introspective. They love starting projects but are very easily distracted!! They're a digital artist and mainly draw animals and dragons. They enjoy TDF form-finding a lot and sometimes write up form interpretations!

Aka is playful and harmlessly chaotic. Ae's always cracking jokes or making silly references. Aes very wholesome and just wants to make people laugh! Ae likes upbeat music, memes, and playing games (especially D&D).

Phry is connected to Lore and is optimistic, soft and encouraging! Dae is also quite energetic and playful, but is very considerate and mostly focused on bringing some positivity and joy into the lives of everyone around daem.

Kuda is connected to Aka and is a cool birb. She makes birb noises and gets excited easily. She's still figuring herself out! So far she seems very excitable, silly and affectionate. She's not always very talkative though and more often lets her body language speak for her.

Introduction to daemons and daemonism

Promoting my daemon website again because I made some big updates to it and more to come soon! FAQ and Resources has been updated, and Tips has been added holding different things to try out like meeting and communicating with your daemon.

Next goal: Add a section about daemons going dormant, merging with other daemons, or becoming a different daemon.

Hey all! I believe some of the server mods already advertised on here, but I'm gonna do it also!

I have made... a discord server! For animal alterhumans! It's a really nice, chill space so far and anyone is welcome to join.

The community specifically caters to animal alterhumans of any variety -- therians, theriomythics, fictherians, kin, otherhearts, otherlinkers, nonhuman headmates, and anyone else who feels "animal" on any level!

Daemon Haven discord!

Hey all! Me and a couple of others just finished setting up our own daemonism discord! It's intended to be a friendly, inclusive space for daemians, daemons, and anyone else curious about the community!

The focus is on the bond between daemian and daemon -- helping people meet their daes, interact with them, and generally chat about the companionship aspect of daemonism and share stories and advice!

There's also a companion forum (which has existed for a while but is currently inactive... I'm hoping to change that!)

We have a gate system set up to keep the server secure. You'll have to introduce yourself before you'll be let into the server proper, but after that you can lurk if you'd prefer!

This server is endo-friendly!

Oh wow, we almost forgot to share these here!! Here's a couple of daemonism surveys we made a little while ago. If you feel like completing them, that would be cool (only if you haven't already ofc!)~

The surveys are basically just a ton of multiple choice questions and you can skip any you don't feel like answering. We wanted to make it not too much of a hassle to fill out.

We'll share the final results here in a certain amount of time, we haven't decided yet. But in the meantime, you can see the results if you submit a response!

Right, nerds! Aka here! Lore was originally gonna write this post but I haven't written anything here yet so... my turn!!

We're a daemon system! You might be wondering what that means!! Because it's not a thing we've really seen exist before.. we made it up basically, to explain our experiences, and that's pretty cool we think. :D

What you can take from the term "daemon system" is this:

We're a plural system!

We are daemons!

Being daemons, and therefore closely interconnected, means we also can be considered median and are cool with that!

If you know anything about daemonism, you may be wondering who our daemian is. Well, that answer is: Lore and Aka! We have two daemians, one of them being me and the other being my counterpart Lore!

But then you might wonder, why do Lore and I seem to refer to ourselves as daemons?

Well, it's cause we ARE daemons! We are each others' daemons!!

Me and Lore are equally daemian and daemon, but we find it more fun and cool to refer to all of us as daemons mostly -- because none of us are "greater" than the others! And also because it's easier to say we're a bunch of daemons (which is true) then to try and explain every time that some but not all of us are also daemians!

Me and Lore both front! We are the hosts both of our subsystem, and the rest of the system we're part of!

Some people say daemons can't front. Well, we know a lot of daes who have fronted, accidentally or intentionally! This doesn't make them non-daemons because daemons are not defined by whether or not they front! Daemons are defined by their close connection with their 'mian, and the fact that they feel they are daemons. c:

When I front, I project Lore! When Lore fronts, they project me! It's pretty cool.

Kuda is my daemon! I am a daemon with two daemons, one is Lore and the other is Kuda! Yes, that is strange, but it's how we are and we have found this to be a very healthy and positive arrangement for us! :D

And Phry is Lore's daemon!

So yes. That's a basic rundown on what's going on with us! We are very happy and cool with how we are, even though we're strange and hard to explain!

There IS a difference between us being median headmates and being daemons. There IS. It's just hard to pin down. I was thinking it'd be cool to try and explain, but... ah.

To us specifically, being daemons is a way of being median, but it implies a specific kind of bond we have. We're one person, but we're also separate people who are autonomous and have our own independent personalities and opinions. We're just very blurry around the edges, and when it comes down to it, we come together to form a single unified whole.

But that's... something that can be true of median systems also, I think?

No, the main thing that makes us daemian / daemons is our relationships with each other -- there's no other word that can describe it. We feel such love and affection for each other. I'd try and compare it to being best friends, or twins, or even platonic soulmates, but... nah, doesn't really capture it.

What makes us daemian / daemons is that when I look at Aka, when I look at Phry, I see the best parts of myself. I love them with all my heart, they're the most incredible people and I can't express how lucky I am to have them be a part of me.

And I know that Aka and Phry feel the same about me. Whether or not I agree with them. But that's the thing: they love me when I can't.

It's not like that with our median headmates. They're cool, I guess, but I don't really love them. They're parts of us, important parts, and they're people, but they're more like... roommates that we get along with.

I could call us median headmates, or facets, and it wouldn't be wrong. But it'd still not feel entirely correct.

1) what's your system like 2) who else is in it? 3) do they have their own daes too?

Heya!! c:

We're a quoigenic (maybe mixed origin, mostly don't care) and at least partially monoconscious system of mostly nonhuman folks! Our system currently has twelve members, including the daes! (It's hard to get a solid count separating out the daes, given how daes work in our system).

Our system has layers, kind of. We have a median subsystem, and then within that a daemon subsystem.

Other members of our system are Meire (inner child), Dragon (kinda like a higher self?), and then Aeolus, Veryn, Yurik and one guy who's not figured out a name yet, who are all OC fictives.

Out of the others, only Aeolus and Veryn have daemons at the moment. Aeolus' daemon is called Delilah, and Veryn's is Ruhn! Not sure if the others are interested in daemons.

We actually recently made a little map of our system... I think it's an easier way of explaining how we all fit together, ahah!
