Great thing about evervale is that people probably don't take Eli seriously enough when he talks about Victor

Cuz oh, you are actively going through religious psychosis and you're telling me that your ex college buddy, roommate, bestie is literally the devil in stolen skin? I (and all the other characters in the book really) would just assume he gave you one gay thought too many and you had to go full Salem witch trials on him

But then we see that Victor really is just Like That and worse

I love how Eli went through the whole entire experience of thinking Victor was dead and driving himself crazy over it for 5 years, thinking he was being haunted, having hallucinations, clearly missing that man like crazy but the SECOND he sees him again, it's on SIGHT.

By God he was actually gonna do it again!! What did he think would happen after? ANOTHER 5 years of psychosis? Maybe 10?? We have learned NOTHING. I love him so much.

and then you get to the flashbacks of said friendship and these two are behaving in a way that warrants the kind of restraining order that doesn't even let you be in the same country together

lockland era evervale are incredibly funny because when we get victor's internal monologue it's like wow that is a deeply disturbed individual, like genuinely crazy

and then we get eli's pov of victor and it's just "my man❤️❤️❤️ my man who low-key hates me❤️❤️ and is mean to me ❤️❤️❤️ my man❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️"

re: last night’s Incident

if you ever see me post an AI generated image, please assume it is because I am fucking stupid and not because I support and use generative AI. the search results on many search engines and picture sharing websites are absolutely infested with AI and I do my very best to avoid AI generated images but there is always the possibility that I will not notice because, again, I am not terribly observant and I don’t have good eyesight. I know it is frustrating and I know it is my responsibility to look into the image source but things will slip through the cracks, please inform me instead of assuming I know

One of my favorite things about loving someone or developing a closeness or fondness towards someone is also loving and developing a fondness for the things they care about. When you learn to see the world in a new way, or you learn to appreciate the things you’ve previously overlooked, or they become your excuse to get into an interest you always thought was cool but thought you didn’t have time for.
