I've been writing fanfic since about 2016, but right now the only place I post my fanfic is on AO3 and you can find me here! Due to the AI scraping that has occurred on AO3 all of my fics are now private and will need an AO3 account to access because I don't want AI to use my fics for anything.

Since Kaz tells Inej not to feed the crows but becomes a flustered mess when she asks why, and then later on it turns out Inej didn't know crows recognize faces, I have to assume the original reason Kaz adviced against it was because he feared one day Inej would've shown up at the Slat like this

because wylan grew up an isolated kid i feel like he goes through a phase where he asks kaz to teach him all the kerch childhood games (which kaz takes very seriously) and over time wylan starts accumulating scrapes on his hands and knees, bruises, one day he even comes back with a bloody nose and when jesper asks where he got it from he just starts laughing uncontrollably because for the first time in his life he can say the marks on his body are from memories of pure, unadulterated joy

Okay so

I’m rereading Shadow and Bone and I have just reunited with my husband, David Kostyk and he’s being very shy but that’s not the point

As Genya and Alina are leaving the workshop, Genya tells Alina: “ David is a great metalworker. He can pull the blade so sharp it will cut through flesh like water. But if you’re not made of metal or glass, he isn’t interested.”

If that’s not the best foreshadowing to “I know metal” and “What’s inside you, it’s steel. It’s brave and unbreakable, and it doesn’t need any fixing” then I don’t know what is.

the crows are so young. they're so young. they make fun of wylan for playing the flute and being a bad criminal. they love waffles. they mock kaz's bad haircut. matthias mentally addresses kaz only with insults for nearly the whole two books. they have all been jealous of each other showing other people attention at some point -- jesper is jealous of anyone kaz gives attention to. matthias is jealous of anyone nina gives attention to. kaz is jealous of how comfortable the others are with each other. wylan is jealous of kuwei flirting with jesper -- they're all insecure at some point. nina gets mad at them for eating her cookies. they're all horny and fantasize about their crushes while actively running for their lives. they all want to kill the woman they kidnapped because she's whiny. they tease inej for sounding philosophical. they have secret hand signals. jesper and nina make sex jokes all the time and love to make others blush. they spite each other. they threatened to tattletale on each other to each other. they compete over who has the biggest bounty on his head. inej uses "being a matthias" as an insult. kaz and jesper have a physical scrap and have to be pulled apart by an Adult. i adore them so much

how i think the crows would act when they’re drunk:

nina- giggly, but will have the most intense and illogical mood swings

matthias- emotional, but specifically in a sappy way. WILL cry over things he loves

inej- clumsy. absolutely stuns everyone the first time they see her drunk and tripping over her own feet

kaz- weirdly friendly?? like, he doesn’t talk much, but his overall aura is much more welcoming when inebriated

wylan- horny. i hate to be the one to say it but i know, in my heart of hearts, that this is true

jesper- CLINGY AF. needs to be cuddling someone at all times

We barely know anything about Madagascar pre-500CE. We don’t even know whether the island had a permanent population before then, despite finding a bunch of much older signs of temporary human presence.

honestly as much as Alina wasn’t used as much as she could’ve been in kos I’m glad she never really “met” Yuri because if he had referred to her as The Darkling’s “beloved” or “lover” or whatever fucking term to put a positive spin on the relationship between the two like he did by calling Genya’s scars a “blessing” I would’ve thrown the book across the room. And if weren’t for Bardugo’s refusal to let Zoya kill the motherfucker, no one would’ve been able to stop her if he had upset both Alina and Genya. Sorry Nikolai, you’d just have to deal with the political headache.

(though honestly with how Alina and Genya are, they probably wouldn’t want Zoya to kill Yuri and that would stop her…sigh why can’t they be a little evil?)

actually thinking about it more…Alina would totally been on board with killing Yuri after what he said to Genya…if he just said something about her she’d probably let it go but upsetting Genya Safin is an immediate death sentence in both Alina and Zoya’s eyes. Expect Genya would council mercy and they would both fold for her 😔 Genya can you just be a little evil? For the sake of my blood pressure?

I have come to the conclusion that the only way to get everyone on board with murdering Yuri is if he upset Zoya, not pissed her off, he did that constantly but genuinely hurt her feelings or something, I don’t know what he could say to do that but if that happened I fully believe everyone, Genya, Nikolai, Alina, etc would all be ready to murder him at that point. this is an excellent fic idea…please I crave Zoya being protected in the same way she had done with everyone else and had to do by herself for her entire life please
