I just randomly remembered an argument I had years ago because I was given an insult I have yet to figure out what it means. Maybe you'd like to take a Crack at it, the person I was arguing with called me a nuance addict.

It's because you have been contemplating the nuances of that insult for several years, like someone combing through their living room rug trying to find one last crumb of meth.

I think that we view time in the context of how long we lived and that's why time goes by much slower for kids than adults.

1 year in the eyes of a 3 year old is 1/3 of the entire time they've exited

1 year to a 30 year is 1/30 of what the time they've existed.

A 3 year would then feel time at a 10 times slower pace than a 30 year old. Time only exists to us in the context of how long we've lived. If you're 3 years old, 3 years are everything you know. To you those 3 years are an eternity. As you get older your eternity does too and a year seems shorter in comparison. That would mean a fly that only lived for a day feels like it's lived an eternity even though to us that day seems like no time.

This was pretty much just a complicated way to say time is relative

It's 9 pm and it's pitch fucking black out there. It's the end of march, there's still snow in the shadows and it still occasionally dips below the zero at night. It's cold and dark enough that if you showed me a night like this, I could believe it's october.

I did hear an ice cream truck a few days ago. It literally hasn't snowed here since October. Suddenly it started snowing again at the end of February and there's been 2 feet of snow since
