i write fic, mostly, but i sometimes make gifs and edits and such, too! i am currently hopelessly infatuated with top gun/top gun: maverick, but i also have a never-ending soft spot for lots of things, such as fall out boy, the mentalist, person of interest, and various other people and things. i also do love to shitpost, lol, and to make friends. please feel free to reach out to me- i'd love to chat, and i promise that i don't bite!
craaaaazy how maverick clearly thinks he’s a fuck up who should’ve died instead of goose and then he outlives carole AND ice AND becomes estranged from rooster for years. no wife no kids no one to mourn you when you burn in. like no wonder he lives with his plane
nice pair of characters who trust each other more than anyone else in the whole entire world it would sure be a shame if one of them betrayed that trust for the sake of trying to keep the other alive. it would sure be a shame to love someone so much you destroy them
do you mind me asking how did you make the speech bubbles in this set?
Sure no worries! Tutorial is below the cut - hope it makes sense :)
Start with your gif coloured and sharpened how you like
go to the shape tool (this will usually be a rectangle or whatever shape you last used)
Right click it and select the "Custon Shape tool" - this will be a sort of blob icon. It looks like this:
In the top tool bar there will be a "shape" option
Click the drop down and select the shape you would like to draw. For the gifset you asked about I used the skinny speech bubble that looks like this.
now draw the speech bubble where you would like it on the gif there will be an outline of what you are drawing
this looks like this:
The shape drawn looks like this on my timeline
make sure you adjust this to make it the same length as your gif
you can adjust you speech bubble using the transform tool (ctrl + t). This way you can adjust the direction of the speech bubble if you like by right clicking and flipping it (or by just moving the corners around).
For the purposes of this tutorial i am just going to leave it where it is.
Next to get the effect I had on my speech bubbles change the fill to white
Now go to your shape layer and change the blending mode to "Difference"
now right click the shape layer and select blending options
you get a pop up like this
go into the color overlay the box should now be ticked and you'll get these options. change the blend mode to color and the red colour to the colour you'd like the speech bubble to be.
these are what my settings now look like for this screen
For the set you were talking about I also added a drop shadow. i clicked the drop shadow box and just used the defaults
this is what the speech bubble looks like now
if you'd like to change colour - just change the blue in your blend options :) (e.g. I could have also picked green)
You can also do a gradient fill instead if you like. To do this go to the gradient overlay section instead of colour
then do the same thing except with a gradient
you can also change the angle of the gradient if you'd like
