“That rotten bird. Look at it. It’s so goddamn pleased it stole my sandwich.”
“Did it really? That’s insane!”
“Just look on the bright side though. It’s probably going to take it and feed it’s family with it. So in the end you basically just saved like four or five baby birds. That’s quite the accomplishment.”
“What did the cat look like?”
“I had a dream once that me and these two other boys kidnapped Santa Claus. I’m not even sure for what reason.”
“He was either pink with purple stripes or purple with pink stripes, it was kind of hard to tell.”
“Santa Claus? Seriously?”
“Wait, what? I was just kidding about the peace pipe, but you actually did it one time? Oh man, don’t let Tiger Lily find out.”
“No, there’s no cats her thankfully, cats tend to go after fairies. I was thinking maybe you owned a cat or something and now you’re having dreams about them. Do you remember anything at all before you showed up here. Seriously, anything at all? The faster you guys remember the faster you guys can leave and we can all move on with our lives.”
“Don’t worry, she didn’t find out then and she’s not going to find out now either. I was very careful.”
“Not really. The little things that I do remember come to me in blurs. It’s almost like I’m dreaming or something, and considering the fact that I’m always dreaming, it’s kind of hard to tell whether what I’m seeing is a memory or just something my mind made up for the Hell of it.”
“I don’t try.”
Slightly shook his head so quickly, his ears were flopping around on his head. “I don’t want that. Pirates are bad people, they don’t deserve to be in one big family.”
“Not all pirates are bad people. I mean, don’t get me wrong here, I’m not on their side anymore than anyone else with a good head on their shoulders is, but they’re people too. They bleed just like us.”
“Besides, I said in the future for a reason, Slightly. The pirates have a lot to make up for first.”
“Well just stop thinking about it.It’s just a dream and as you said the chances to dream the same thing are low.So just screw it.”
“Easy for you to say. You weren't the one trapped inside a dark room with nothing, but a grinning cat to keep you company. Trust me, I know it sounds stupid, but it was actually kind of creepy.”
Slightly cocked his head to the side. “Do you also dream of Pirates and Lost Boys getting along?”
“Very funny.”
“I do hope you know that that could very well happen someday. Obviously not anytime soon, but think about it for a second. Anything is possible! Who’s to say the Pirates and Lost Boys won’t reach some kind of treaty in the next couple of years? Next thing you know, we’re all living as one big family.”
“Well, that is a weird dream for sure, but it must have been something disturbing for you. Perhaps, there’s a meaning behind it. If there is something I can help you out with then let me know.”
“I don’t really think disturbing is what I would call it. Annoying and odd perhaps, but it wasn’t all that disturbing actually. Trust me, I’ve had worse dreams in the past. Nightmares more like it. I don’t think there’s anything you can do Silvermist, but that’s sweet of you to offer. I appreciate it, really.”
“Actually- I have been having some trouble sleeping at night. Got any advice on that? I’m desperate.”
“Did you steal Tiger Lily’s peace pipe and smoked it before you went to bed? Cause it sounds like you were on something.“
“Not crazy, I’ve heard dreams weirder than that. But did the cat seem familiar to you at all?”
“Look, that was a one time thing, alright?”
“And no, not really. Why? I don’t suppose you've seen any grinning cats around here, have you?”
“Of course not. Who doesn’t have a weird dream at least once in their lifetime?”
“I mean, I guess you’re right. It was honestly the strangest thing in the world though.”
“The cat just keep on grinning and smiling. I was all kinds of embarrassed and no matter how many times I begged it to tell me what was so funny, it just kept on laughing at me! It was so annoying.”
“I had the same dream 3 days in a row.It could happen to you too I guess.Even if the chances are small.”
“I highly doubt it, but if it does happen again by any chance, you’ll be the first person to know. Maybe the second time around, I’ll actually be able to talk the cat into telling me what exactly is so funny.”
“I’m not even sure why I let my dreams get to me anymore. I mean, it’s me we’re talking about here. What do I honestly expect?”
“You’ll never know I guess.Or maybe you could dream about it again and you can find out.”
“Hasn't anyone ever told you how rare it is to have the same dream twice?”
“The chances of me seeing that cat again are one in a million.”
“It’s way too early for life. Someone tell me why I’m awake.”
“I was actually wondering the same thing myself.”
“You’re not crazy.Just some dreams are fucked up.”
“Yeah, I guess you’re right...”
“I just wish it would’ve spoken up instead of keeping me in the dark about what was so funny.”
Hm, I’ve had some pretty crazy dreams lately but nothing like that. I don’t think you’re crazy at all, in fact, all dreams are probably just as abnormal as yours.
“It was just so insane. I mean, a grinning cat of all things! What on Earth would possess me to dream up something so absurd? I just wish it would’ve said something instead of laughing blankly at me. Maybe then I could actually try to make sense of all this.”
“I had the weirdest dream last night. There was this cat, and he wouldn't stop grinning at me and every time I asked him what he was staring at, he would just laugh at me. It was so...strange.”
“You probably think I’m crazy, don’t you?”
