The wig color ring was supposed to be on backorder until June, but the ever-awesome @ardawigs pulled a miracle and got them to me early! Actually practiced styling a wig today! It took ages but it felt good and I'm basically happy with how it turned out ^^
Hi friends! Sorry for the radio silence in the last few weeks. I’ve been dealing with a lot of personal stuff that I won’t get into, but suffice to say I’ve been on an emotional roller coaster that has made all creative endeavors very tough for me.
Still, I want cosplay to be a place of safety and calm for me, so I’m very hopeful that I will be able to start working on some cosplay stuff soon. Fingers crossed that stuff calms down, and I can get to all the stuff I’ve been putting on the back burner while I focused on my mental health.

Cosplay Wigs FAQ
I get asked A LOT about where I buy my wigs for cosplay from, so here is a small list of my most recommended shops! Kasou’s Wig Shop: Consistently amazing quality, very accurate to pictures (because they take their own rather than using a cosplayers picture), a little more expensive but always worth it. I have 4 wigs from here, all required minimal styling and trimming. Link: https://www.etsy.com/shop/Kasouscosplaywigshop Lucaille: This shop is very well known among cosplayers for having cheap, accurate and high quality wigs. Some are better quality than others, but for the price they’ve all been amazing! However, shipping is about $25 so I really suggest buying 2 or 3 at a time to make it more worth your while. http://www.lucaille.com/ Taobao Shops: Taobao is a magical place, if you know where to look. It’s tricky to navigate at times, so you’ll have to decide if it’s worth the hassle or not. Since almost every shop doesn’t ship outside of China/Asia, you’ll have to use an agent. This is easier than it sounds though! I use https://www.spreenow.com/ and it makes the process as simple as possible. You’ll have to search in Chinese, but if you google “how to search taobao” the first link should take you to an instructional page with google translate on it, and from there you can type whatever you want to search for and then copy/paste it into the taobao search bar. There are hundreds of shops, so try to choose from ones that have a high overall rating and many reviews!
So I came up with this great idea for a fake beard using fiber mascara and I realized there were no tutorials out there for this already. So I made one myself. It works really well and is very realistic!!

IT’S A BIG-ASS LIST OF PATTERNS FOR VARIOUS TYPES OF ARMOR RIGHT BEHIND THIS FRIENDLY AND CLICKABLE LINK.
It’s not completely comprehensive, and they’re all made with actual metal in mind, but I’m pretty sure they’d work just as well with thermoplastics or foam if that’s what you’re working with.
I was looking for references and tripped over it, so I figured I’d share.

Quick(ish) and extremely lazy Fenris makeup test. Didn’t even do the sides of the neck on the tattoo, but I mostly wanted to get a feel for it. Still, definitely on the right track. Now to get a better paint than white liquid eyeliner.
So this somehow accidentally got deleted? But yeah, I now apparently use my Snapchat for dumb cosplay test things. I can’t help it that this wig ended up looking vaguely like Victor Nikiforov’s hair.
