Happy Freakin Weekend!!! Imagine being as excited about the weekdays as you are for this WEEKEND… I don’t think so!!! 🤣 I bet that was your initial response. It’s been my response for a long time AND sometimes still is. Though not as frequently, as I’ve been working on it consistently and things are changing. What if you changed the PICTURE of how you see yourself everyday? Current picture… ❗️Too tired to wake up early. ❗️I have to go to work. ❗️I have to see those coworkers that drive me crazy. ❗️I have to have coffee to work through my brain fog. ❗️I have to get my health and my “diet” back on track after the weekend cheats. (Meh, it can wait til next month) ❗️I’ll always feel this bloated and blah. Now picture… 🔆 I enjoy a little extra time in the morning for my routine. 🔆 I get to go to work and enjoy seeing my coworkers. 🔆 My body has the right amount of energy I need to get things done. 🔆 I don’t feel guilt for indulging because I maintain healthy habits all week. 🔆 My health and future look bright and I’m excited to be around for my loved ones in the next 15, 30, or 60 years. I HATE when I commit to something and when the day comes for that event all I want do is cancel. Where did the excitement go that I was feeling when I said yes? Have you felt this way lately? Often we make it way too easy to cancel on others and even cancel on ourselves. I was recently invited to a birthday dinner from an acquaintance. We did not know each other that well and I found it nice of him to include me. Of course, he choose the expensive top restaurant in town and it crossed my mind multiple times, “Do I want to spend $200+ on dinner?” Then I remembered a friend recently posted about canceling a lunch with her best girl friend as she was feeling overwhelmed and anxious that morning. She had no idea her lunch date was feeling the same way and only a few days later would take her life by jumping from her balcony. Reflecting on this, I committed to showing up. Follow through with what you say you are going to do for other people and for yourself. I’m glad I did because some other guests had cancelled last minute and I was the only one there for the first 30 minutes. Imagine the birthday boy sitting by himself through dinner. Turns out he knew the manager and we were treated like royalty for practically nothing. How have you not shown up for others OR yourself lately? 💬 I remember: •Ignoring what my body was telling me. •Talking myself out of opportunities. •Not asking for help. •Cancelling on myself and others. 🧠 Focus on: •Small steps to do what you say you are going to do. •Integrating daily habits for your body and mind. •Surrounding yourself with accountability partners. •Showing up for yourself, so you can show up for others.
