i think about this a lot
The guy got his life and career destroyed by his divorce, cut him some slack.
he was also sexually assaulted by a man who could destroy his career
protect him
reblog if the man on the right is just as beautiful as the man on the left
people grow old? like, that’s a thing that happens? leave my guy alone.
This man deserves everything let him he happy
Ok… This is what happened to Fraser
-His wife ditched him and asked for 900k a year,
-He was sexually assaulted which he said kicked him into a deep depression
-He stated that the stunts from the 3rd Mummy movie completely destroyed his body and he was in and out of the hospital for 7 years even having to get surgery to repair his vocal cords.
-He apparently blamed himself for all this which only worsened his depression.
This man has literally been through hell this past decade so please lets cut him some slack and wish him the best
All this but also that picture on the right is a really bad paparazzi photo compared with a professional quality movie promo still. No one looks good when some random person snaps you on the street, regardless of who you are.
Compare with this image from the GQ article last February:
Proper lighting, professional setting, good angles etc.
The dude is 49 and has had a rough couple of decades, but he’s still lovely to look at, and I’ll fight anyone who says otherwise.
Plus, now he’s in Doom Patrol, which makes me happy af.
And let’s not forget he was probably slightly to severely dehydrated to look that buff in he first photo. And I’m so pleased he got work again he seems like a good sort, and from the stealth pilot in Titans, Doom Patrol looks like it should be good.
It shouldn’t even matter what he’s been through. Body shaming of ANYONE is wrong.
ALL OF THIS
Plus
2019 Brendan is still slaying, so btfu
This post keeps getting better and I’m here for it
I love this whole thread
The last time I saw this it was only at the first ‘cut him some slack’ part and it just progressively gets better each time.
We support this Brendan Fraser in this home
I’ll say it again, the blue sweater photo in the OP was chosen because it was the most unflattering photo of him from that day. It’s a hatchet job! The same day:
I mean, look at this adorable face:
he looks like a really kind dad who would give good hugs and watch rubbish movies with me
Every time I see this it’s 1000 times better.
ALWAYS REBLOG to protect this man. He deserves it.
Must be protected at all costs.
Protect Brendan Fraser.
he has a daddy belly in that last pic omgggg <33333333
Leave this precious angel baby alone!
👏🏼👏🏼
Don’t come for this man. Ever.
he’s coming back y'all! he’s got his first acting job in a while but he knows the internet supports him!!
In this house we love and respect Brendan Fraser ❤️
He got super emotional last week when a fan told him that we all love and support him. Protect this man at all costs
Brendan Fraser has gotten emotional after a fan told The Mummy star that the internet truly loves the guy.
I’ll never not reblog
I love him and always will ❤
but she's like 13... and he's almost on his 30's... i can't wrap my head around that
Well, that’s something that you need to address within the book canon if you’re interested in Sansa’s character development and maturation into womanhood. It’s a good idea to sharpen your understanding of GRRM’S subversion of the knight and fair maiden as well as the beauty and the beast tropes and keep these in mind when considering Sansa x Sandor in canon.
If it’s disturbing to you, then GRRM may not be the author for you, since he is the one who wrote their age difference and dynamic. He also has commissioned and displayed several art pieces depicting their canon interactions, has stated that he played with it in the books, and that Sansa’s memory of Sandor and unreliable narrative of him kissing her will eventually mean something.
And it’s absolutely fine if it bothers you. GRRM isn’t for everyone, particularly those who prefer their fiction and art to reflect their personal moral compass or have difficulty reconciling the differences between what happens in a fictional world and what would be appropriate in reality.
Sansa x Sandor isn’t an invention of shippers, it is a canon ship that the author makes contextually important to Sansa’s character development long after she’s separated from Sandor in canon. So asking shippers to frame it in a way that makes sense for you isn’t really something we can do.
Almost no one who ships sansan wants to see them as a couple in canon, and that is reflected in the fact that most fanfiction authors age Sansa up. We ship it because it’s a part of the story of ASOAIF that we want to see followed up on and it’s the only relationship Sansa has in ASOAIF that fulfills the following conditions:
there is an actual established emotional connection between the two characters, and one that is narratively important
there are canonical signs of Sansa’s actual romantic and erotic interest in Sandor
Like it or not, Sansa uses Sandor’s memory and lessons (and articles of clothing) for self-comfort, to confirm her suspicions of others, to remind herself to be wary of others who appear trustworthy, as a litmus test for the bravery and honesty of others, and to fantasize about romantically and sexually.
Sansa also uses her romantic thoughts and memories of Sandor as a way to reclaim her agency, her desires and her development as a young woman.
GRRM knew they would be a disaster together in canon, and so he separated Sansa and Sandor so that Sansa could grow up and apart from Sandor, regain her agency and individuality, and so Sandor would get physical, spiritual and emotional rehabilitation he so desperately needs on the Quiet Isle and learn to people.
When they are reunited in the books, they will both be entirely different people from the scared little bird and drunk, PTSD triggered killer who parted ways in ACOK.
Hopefully looking at the ship from this perspective will help you feel a little better about it, even if you aren’t able to ship it. Thanks for the ask!
Regardless of whatever perceived problem the age difference between SanSan might present to some (and I get that this really might be distasteful to some people – that’s fine, they don’t have to ship it, or they can age her up to whatever age is more palatable for themselves), the fact remains that if we are looking at the text itself of the first two books (in which, thus far, the entirety of Sansa and Sandor’s direct interaction takes place), there are so many erotically-tinged and symbolic moments between them that drawing *some* kind of conclusion about the intended nature of their relationship is not the result of mere shipper-goggles – rather, it is exactly what is happening in the undercurrent of the text.
There is no doubt that Sandor Clegane is directly a part (if not the cause of) of Sansa’s coming of age and sexual awakening. And Sansa is, likewise, directly a cause of his emotional awakening. In A Clash of Kings, for example, Sansa experiences her actual, literal menarche (her moonblood coming upon her) in Sandor’s presence (right as he is pointing his sword against her!!!). Issues of age differences are beside the point in such a situation. That moment, right there, means that Sansa becomes both literally and symbolically a ‘woman’ in Sandor’s presence. And with the whole Beauty and the Beast dynamic between them and their time together (leading up to that fateful moment at the Blackwater), he becomes a ‘man’ in hers.
That is some powerful, erotic, visceral stuff….and it’s all completely canon. It’s part of what drew me and so many other SanSan fans to the ship in the first place. Likewise, a great deal of what passes between them during their scenes together would not have the same impact if Sansa were substantially older at that point… the 'coming of age’ element is crucial to both characters. And even after they are parted in the post-King’s Landing scenes, the romantic and erotically-tinged nature of their interactions continues to have a potent effect on their thoughts and memories of one another.
If people want to understand the SanSan dynamic in the books (instead of just having a knee-jerk 'but mah age difference!!1’ reaction to it), I highly recommend taking a closer look at some of GRRM’s major influences. Everyone knows of the famous La Belle et La Bête by Jean Cocteau which is GRRM’s favourite film of all time, as well as the fact that GRRM himself was a screenwriter for the 1990s Beauty and the Beast tv series. This explains much when it comes to the Beauty and the Best elements. But one major influence that doesn’t get discussed as much is the 1984 gothic fantasy-horror film, The Company of Wolves (based on the Angela Carter book of the same name). It is a retelling of the Little Red Riding Hood fairytale with strong coming-of-age and sexual/erotic awakening themes. The main character has qualities that are highly reminiscent of both Sansa and Arya, and I believe GRRM has indeed stated it as one of his inspirations. There’s a quote from that film that goes something like, 'if there’s a beast in men, it meets its match in women too.’ To me, this says a great deal about how we are supposed to understand the SanSan’s dynamic, both as it is portrayed thus far, and also how it may eventually develop later on.

If you don't like a story, maybe it's best to just walk away instead of make an exit speech. Why rub it in my face that you hate things about it and refuse to read any more? Is it not better to just stop reading rather than making a dramatic exit? I can't tag every little turn the story will take without spoiling the entire plot. I didn't know know that the main characters dating other people offscreen was triggering, but I still warned people before I did it. This is basically ruined my day, so thanks reader.
Hey babe, so I used to think Littlefinger knew of Daenerys since the line: "What little peace and order the five kings left us will not long survive the three queens, I fear." But I also saw someone say his plan of marrying Sansa and rallying her bannermen included making her a Queen, so the queens would be Cersei, Margaery, and Sansa, correct? Surely Littlefinger has heard the rumors, and if not, what do you think he plans to do with Daenerys or F-Aegon?
Littlefinger definitely knows about Dany, especially since he was the one who told Robert that sending a Faceless Man after her would be way too expensive. Whether he knows about Queen Daenerys and her dragons is a different matter. The rumors about Dany have only just begun to hit Westeros – the Summer Islander swan ship captain who met her in Qarth has only just arrived in Oldtown (and is going back to her again, with Archmaester Marwyn on board); Tywin dismissed Varys’s report about a three-headed dragon in Qarth (Varys carefully placed the info along with a bunch of unreliable rumors to make sure Tywin would ignore it, actually, but also note Littlefinger was there to hear that report); Cersei also dismissed reports of dragons and slave revolts in the east.
Nevertheless, Littlefinger has his own sources, and he’s not the sort to ignore eastern rumors just because they’re far away or unlikely. So we can assume he’s paid a little more attention to reports of Dany and her dragons (although he probably doubts anything about magic he may have heard). But Littlefinger’s also especially likely to track what mercenaries are doing, as war affects inter-continental economics and his more speculative investments. The Golden Company broke their contract with Myr sometime early in 300 AC (according to the fan timeline, Arianne heard about it in “February”, Cersei heard about it in “March”), Jon Connington convinced them to sail to Westeros in “April”, and Sansa’s last AFFC chapter was mid-“May”. So it’s pretty definite Littlefinger heard about their activities by the time of the convo about the three queens. However, the Small Council is discussing the Targaryen pretender with the GC in the Stormlands at the end of “June” – so while Littlefinger may have heard of Aegon in particular by TWOW Alayne I, it’s uncertain if he would have in AFFC. Although if he has spies in the GC, he might have heard the news before anyone else did.
So, with all that established – who did Littlefinger mean when he said “What little peace and order the five kings left us will not long survive the three queens, I fear”? Margaery and Cersei are a given, but did he mean Dany, Sansa, or someone else for the third? I’ve talked about this before, but that was a while back, so let me go over it again:
Dany–
Pro: certainly when she arrives in Westeros there will be war.
Con: does LF expect her to arrive anytime soon? If he’s heard info about her, he’s also probably heard of her staying in Meereen.
Sansa–
Pro: it does seem likely that he plans to make Sansa a queen eventually (I have no doubt that Littlefinger ships Sansa/Petyr/Iron Throne).
Con: in that same conversation, he speaks of making Sansa Lady of the Eyrie and using the Vale lords to march on Winterfell, not King’s Landing. He’d be keeping his ultimate plans for her secret, so why mention “three queens” at all? Also, “peace won’t survive the three queens” seems contradictory to his “everyone will love you” plans with Sansa, not to mention his usual methods of trickery… wouldn’t he want Queen Sansa to bring peace, not destroy it?
Someone else:
Myrcella– (assuming LF expects Tommen won’t survive and/or heard of Arianne’s queenmaking attempt) Pro/con: Myrcella wouldn’t be a third side of this war of queens, she’d join up with her mother… but nevertheless, patriarchal lords might reject a ruling queen, especially one so young, which would again set the Lannisters against everyone else.
Arianne– Pro/con: If the fan timeline is correct, Aegon would not yet have arrived in Westeros by the time of this conversation, and certainly Dorne would not yet have received JonCon’s letter asking for their support. However, either the timeline may not be correct, or LF might have spies within the Golden Company, which would tell him that Aegon is hoping for Dornish support; and he might be predicting Arianne will marry Aegon before either of them have even thought about it themselves. (As the fans have, lol.) Arianne would definitely be a third side, and again, war would follow.
Now, stepping aside from what Littlefinger may have been thinking re the three queens, and going to the Doylistic question of what GRRM was planning here – post-facto foreshadowing might be involved. That is, at the time GRRM wrote that line, he might have been thinking the third queen would be Dany (or Sansa). But with the split he had to do with AFFC/ADWD, and all the rewrites ADWD needed, not to mention how long it’s taken for TWOW, maybe his plans changed. For that matter, the two TWOW Arianne preview chapters we have were originally planned for ADWD, which may mean they were written while he was working on AFFC, even. So maybe this third queen will turn out to be Arianne, and LF will say “ah, exactly as I expected”, and it won’t even be a retcon.
What Littlefinger plans to do with Aegon – probably wait and see. If Aegon looks to be successful in his conquest of Westeros, which he almost certainly will be (at least for a little while)… and if something goes wrong with LF’s plans for Sansa in the Vale (which between Sweetrobin’s health, Harry’s fickleness, Lyn Corbray’s unpredictability, and Shady Shadrich likely kidnapping her for the bounty, they very probably will), LF might move to plan B, make Sansa queen by marrying her to this Targaryen prince. That likely would require dealing with Arianne, but for Littlefinger and his poisons? Not a problem in his mind. But either way, I really hope Sansa does not end up connected to poor doomed Aegon, but even if she is, if my silly little crack theory is correct, no marriage will happen anyway.
So it’s all really complicated, and I personally would not make any definite bets about the identity of this “third queen”. Can’t speak for other people, of course…
I wrote twitter meta about the one good thing about this film (Adam Driver’s acting, the PURE character work he did with zero dialogue) because I finally figured out what he was talking about when he said he was using “mask work” with Kylo Ren. He wasn’t playing through a mask only when he wore the helmet, he was acting as if his very FACE was a stoic blank mask he was looking through. That’s why Kylo Ren as a character has such a specific feeling to him, and why the audience instantly responded to Ben Solo, who could show his emotions.
This character was always 100% a young boy hiding behind a mask that hid and disallowed every emotion except for his anger, the only emotion that men are allowed to feel. This character is an exploration of how toxic masculinity harms men. And what miracles can happen for men internally when they embrace emotionality and forgive themselves and use their energy to do good. (I’m crying about him again.)
The connection between them was so raw and powerful that it reminded her of touching a live wire in the wreckage of a starship.
—Star Wars: The Last Jedi: Expanded Edition, Jason Fry

If you’re a writer of any kind and you don’t plan to make the protagonist end up with the villain then please stop giving them sexual tension and better chemistry than the people they end up with. Please I’m begging you- I don’t know how much longer I can stand seeing a protagonist end up with a dry ass good guy when a sexy brooding man was waiting there this whole time. Please my weak heart cannot handle another disappointment.

I am in DEEEEEP right now with this ship I cannot even handle myself. Wanted this out of my system desperately before finishing my Sansan Secret Santa July thing… I’m almost done sketching that one out and will need to add color.
I have a THING about drawing my ships in snow… ugh… I cannot stop drawing these two! I am really enjoying the Sansan community here on tumblr and all the great PRIMO fanfics out there! Send me recs people! I’ve read a lot, but I KNOW I haven’t read them all. I’m really enjoying modern day AU as well as alternate ending AU among others. Yay! XD
