"The fun thing for us for that end sequence was his costume -- what he would have left over from the ship. I don't really think you see it in the film but the trousers that he's wearing, they're cut from one of the flight suits. And we've done a belt buckle that's made of xenonite that Rocky would've made for him. And all of the sewing on it is a little bit - it's nowhere near as good as Jenny would normally do, so we had to purposely ask Jenny to do bad sewing at the top of his trousers, so it'd look like he would've done it.

And then our brilliant breakdown department, run by Tim Shanahan, they break everything down to look like it's 10, 20 years old. So his cardigan and the t-shirt's all faded. And even on the laces -- the laces in his chuck taylors -- because your laces always break after a certain period of time, so we found stuff that was on the ship, like elastics and stuff. There's a nice big close-up actually in the film, so you can see that they're not normal laces, they're like stuff that he would've got from the ship that he's made as make-shift laces."

A bit wild to me to see the notion that PHM is apolitical, even from the author himself, because... what? You mean the movie in which the world governments work together to try to solve a climate disaster, and scientists are believed, and it's explicitly said that the nations of the world won't work together to ration food? You mean the movie in which a woman is leading the main project to save the world and is scapegoated for it? You mean the movie in which the main character is seen as expendable partly because of the fact that he has no conventional partner or a traditional family? You mean the movie in which the main character loses all of his autonomy for the greater good and is forced to become a sacrifice? You mean the movie where the main character meets an alien and they share each other's scientific discoveries and advancements and culture? You mean that movie?

I was thinking about it after Grace gives Rocky the computer, and does that mean Rocky can now expand his vocabulary on his own? Like can he just google words and add them to the voice program? I need a comic of Rocky just spewing bs and Grace loosing his mind at the monster he’s created lol

I wonder if Ryan Gosling knows about BloodyMary in the way that Mark does, and if he does I NEED to know his thoughts. I feel like he’s silly enough to find it amusing or he doesn’t understand it at all and just moves on.
