Having a conversation when you have Adhd and Auditory Processing issues be like:
its so shiddy when u have to convince yourself to do your hobbies. like, its fun, you like it, why cant you just do it. do it. do it. but what if.... mindless media consumption instead....
Me, an adhd riddled gremlin, when someone is giving me multi-step verbal instructions:
so i’ve heard that many adhd/add people self medicate with sugar. do you know anything about that?
I’ve heard this too. Unfortunately I don’t have much experience with it. As a kid when I ate sugar I would get tired. Like really tired. Especially if I ate too much. I never understood the TV trope where the kid got hyper from sugar.
I’m thinking it could work the similar to caffeine? Both slightly increase dopamine levels similar to how some adhd meds increase dopamine levels (though sugar and caffeine increase dopamine to a much lesser degree). Low levels of dopamine are thought to be associated with adhd , theoretically, raising them a bit (with sugar/caffeine/etc.) could help the slightest bit and be considered self medication. But most self medication is done unintentionally due to adhd-ers being naturally drawn to things that stimulate dopamine.
So, it could help a little bit (assuming it works like a very mild stimulant) If your looking to treat adhd with sugar, though, I wouldn’t hold out too much hope.
This isn’t much and it’s (admittedly) mostly speculation but I hope it helps!
i ALSO scrolled down ur entire blog even tho the topmost post is 'i suddenly hit the bottom of ur blog' but i forgot while scrolling that that could happen. anyway i had a good trip thanks :)
I’m glad you enjoyed my blog, thanks for scrolling that long!
y'all ever just get one (1) thing done then call it a day
Everyday is just me trying to get a single thing accomplished so I don’t feel like trash
Ahh I know this feeling well, my friend
Thank you so much for your clarity and info on Adhd. My son was diagnosed about taking year ago (he’s 7) and one the biggest obstacles to his everyday life is what his teachers always called his extreme perfectionism. His epic meltdown because something didn’t turn out exactly as he wanted. he’s now explaining that he feels judged.I had never heard of RSD until your blog and it all feels so enlightening. I’m crying tears of relief in knowing this is a thing and it gives me hope for him.
I’m so glad that I could help! I honestly never expected this blog to be much more than a small meme page. Hearing that I’m actually making a difference and helping people inspires me so much. Thank you!
I wish you and your son all the best!!
rsd be like: sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry...

Shout out to all my adhd peeps who now have to suffer the hell of self-regulating online classes
And another shout out to all my adhd peeps who are in quarantine right now and bored as hell
I wish you all the best!
Ok but where is my shoutout to the homeschooled adhd peeps who had to deal with online classes before all this?
How could I forget my homeschooled peeps when I've done some homeschooling myself?! Shout out to you all! Hopefully we can share our wisdom with those new to online schooling!
And while we're at it, a big shout out to all my adhd peeps struggling with working from home because we all know that adhd doesn't go away just because you're an adult!!
Everyone: Hey, can you remind me to-
My adhd ass:
