i'm being so for real. where is oscar's good luck? where is the karma for all the shit that keeps happening? because it does just keep happening. so much of it isn't even his fault and yet he has to suffer the concequences of it. and i know i know that's sport etc, but i don't care!!! i want justice and retribution.

i mean, of COURSE i miss seeing oscar win and yeah i really really miss having him on the podium.

but, most of all, i miss seeing him enjoy something that he loves so dearly, which is racing. may he find that joy again.

the recency bias in this sport has never been more obvious than it is right now, because before Baku people were calling Oscar a "generational talent", "the only driver who could beat Verstappen", he was "in a league of his own", he "looked every bit a champion" and so many other insane things and now that he had two mid races (i don't consider Singapore to be mid, it was a solid performance) everyone is suddenly acting like he's leading the championship by mere luck and like he already lost it, when he's very much still the championship leader and he's very much still in contention for the title. Baku was a month ago by the way. saying that the drivers are only as good as their last race has done irreparable damage to this sport. okay, sure let's just conveniently ignore the insanely amazing season Oscar had, i guess.

i don't want to hear a word calling oscar whiny for this. they HAVEN'T been free to race all year. the number of times they've asked oscar to defer to his teammate is insane and now it's the other way around they have nothing to say. he's played the "team game" they've been so insistent on and has every right to be frustrated with the fact they've suddenly dropped it

So When Oscar's trying to overtake Lando, he's constantly being reminded of the 'rules' before he even does anything, gets reprimended twice live on radio for a lock up that didn't even touch his teammates car, has to give the position back for a slow pitstop his teammate had (a decision his teammate made by his own will btw) meanwhile Lando crashes into him twice, gets babied instead and they're 'free to race' when Oscar has a slow pitstop. SURE

I still cannot get over the fact that Oscar kept going. Like this man. he was fully stuck in the grass after his team had prevented him from going for the win before with fucking papaya rules, and yet he grit his teeth reversed out and actually scored two points. I cannot imagine what he was feeling that moment in the grass. they had literally marked him as out of the grand prix and he said actually no, fuck that. he is my driver of the day cause he should've won that.
