It’s that DS9 music that really gets me 😂
Tuvok definitely secretly sees himself as mentoring Harry Kim. Old mates got a lot of paternal energy with no where to put it while in the delta quadrant. Hes v proud of Harry for how far he's come.
Hes also fathering paris but against his better judgement.
Kate Mulgrew's voice. That's it send post.
I have had the BEST thought ever.
S.A.M. and Kyle would be the bestest of friends. The most platonic relationship ever and with their powers of being pure sunshine and golden retriever puppy dog combined they make sure everyone has joy in their lives.
These two would be an unstoppable amount of happiness and they would love each other so much. They seem like epitome of people who seem like childhood friends but met like five minutes ago.
What I'm saying it we need S.A.M. and Kyle to interact with each other more!!!!

If the Voyager Crew worked in a Fast Food Restaurant
Janeway: Quickly works her way up to manager. She runs a tight ship but is fair - if you need time off she makes sure you get it, but screw up an order and you'll receive the mother of all dressing-downs, unless she senses you've got shit going on in your life, then she'll be your best friend and help get your shit sorted. Constantly steals fries when she thinks no-one is looking. May or may not keep a bottle of bourbon in her office.
Chakotay: Gets promoted to supervisor fairly quickly. Doesn't run a tight ship, but everyone likes him so they behave when he's in charge. Tries his best not to judge the carnivores who buy beef burgers and tries to promote veggie items whenever they're in stock. Buys fries for Janeway to stop her stealing them when they're on shift together, leading to mocking from some of the team who think he's either trying to suck up to the boss, or that he likes her, or both. When he starts buying Janeway fries this instead leads her to start stealing sauce when she thinks no-one's looking.
Tuvok: The supervisor no-one likes to start with. Everything must be done to an exacting standard. If those burgers are flipped five seconds late, you're going to hear about it. Fastidious about cleanliness though, which puts him in most peoples' good books and gets rid of anyone who doesn't wash their hands as soon as possible. He refuses to eat any of the food they sell. Once called the police when someone ate his lunch and carried out his own investigation to find the culprit when the police laughed at him.
B'Elanna: Doesn't want to be there and her customer service mask slips after a few bad customers. Has made customers wear their fries on more than once occasion. This made Janeway sad cos she can't steal any when there's none left, but she still didn't get fired cos when she has good days there's no-one better to work front of house.
Tom: Works in the kitchen because he kept offering customers freebies with their orders. Now that he's in the kitchen he's been caught giving customers extra chicken nuggets and fries, and he's been caught stealing the toys out of the kids meals. When he's stuck on the drive-thru window he flirts with customers like there's no tomorrow. As a result he's ended up wearing a few milkshakes courtesy of B'Elanna. Starts the rumours about Janeway and Chakotay canoodling in her office. He's the closest to getting fired.
Harry: A favourite with the older clientele who think he's "such a nice young man". Slow at serving, tries his best to meet Janeway and Tuvok's exacting standards to the point the kitchen stops working if he's ever in there. Thought Tuvok's idea of using a set square for the cheese slices was genius until Janeway threatened to fire him. Eventually gets told to concentrate on cleaning, which sadly for him includes the toilets. Is on an endless quest to arrange the perfect work night out without Tom and/or B'Elanna ruining it.
The Doctor: Liaison from HR. Takes issue with everything, tells everyone they could do their jobs better but gets in the way of everything everyone is doing. Tries to pitch in when it's busy but causes arguments with customers, takes orders for items that don't exist. Gives orders to the wrong customers. Is a general disaster in every area. Fulfills his HR role by showing B'Elanna, Tom and Harry what not to do.
Seven: Tells customers their orders are wrong as they lack both in taste and nutritional value. Tells everyone in the kitchen they're incompetent. Tried to cook customers' orders herself to enhance their culinary experience. Gets fired during her first shift.
Neelix: Is relegated to the kitchen because he wants to talk to everyone, no matter how busy the restaurant is. Got in trouble taking food out of the kitchen and offering it to customers for free. Got in trouble for trying to make his own menu items. Breaks the ice cream machine every shift. Only still has his job because everyone likes him. They will make him handle all the tough customers because he always de-escalates their shit. He earns the nickname "Asshole Whisperer" as a result.
Kes: Star employee - great with customers, great in the kitchen, great at supervising and training new staff. Great first-aider. Realised she could do everything better herself so left to run her own restaurant.
Ayala: Security guard, flirts with everything in sight. Doesn't try to be sneaky with stealing food like Janeway, instead he just walks into the kitchen and makes whatever he wants for himself. Keeps a football in his locker and boots it off the side of the building when its quiet. Despite everything Janeway knows the place won't run well without him so he gets away with everything. Appoints himself the restaurant mascot cos all the customers like him best.
I didn’t always like the idea of Janeway becoming an Admiral after bringing Voyager home. But I think I can see it.
I could see Kathryn Janeway returning to the Alpha Quadrant in the wake of the Dominion War and a lot of her fellow captains thinking she had it easy by “getting her ship lost”. And then the ship’s logs start hitting general access after the debriefings are over. (The same way Janeway was able to pull other captain’s logs for reference).
And her fellow rank-and-file get the logs dealing with the Borg, the Hirogen, Species 8472, the Vidiians, the telepathic pitcher plant, the macrovirus, what have you. And combining all that with making the journey in seven years and the fact that the entire Voyager crew is now a highly trained influx of fresh staffing after the Dominion War, with seven years of Janeway’s desperate insistence on Starfleet morals informing them?
Suddenly Janeway’s crew is captains and commanders and lieutenants, and she’s this Teddy Roosevelt-esque figure in Starfleet in that she’s revered for her leadership but also considered the type of admirably insane that wins wars.
And right about this time Janeway is looking at how Starfleet principles - the very same principles she clung to for her own sanity for seven years - have distorted and changed to be more war-like after the Dominion took so many lives, and she’s thinking “???? have you all??? gone mad???? you know what, yeah, put me in charge.”
The admiralty thinks they’re pulling one over on her by getting her innovative/insane mind to accept a desk job. Jokes on them, after seven years of being an absolute authority on Starfleet principles wherever she goes, she’s perfectly happy to be back in a spot where she can’t be outranked.
I love this and agree with your take 100%. I just want to add that the first Janeway that makes it back to the alpha quadrant much later probably is a lot more aligned with the new more cynical federation and/or she’s become jaded about a system that she no longer believes in. That Janeway had to have years of conversations with the more cynical Starfleet for years before she even got back to Earth. I can imagine Voyager getting many missions where they were ordered to spy/confront Romulans etc during the end of Voyager’s first journey home that we don’t get to see.
So, I can imagine that the admiralty actually achieved their goal of getting Janeway behind a desk when she got back to Earth the first time, but she gets the last laugh when she gets her younger self home much sooner. The younger Janeway that we see has not had her ideals worn out of her, so she’ll take the desk job but this time she’ll use her authority to fight for the Starfleet ideals that she still believes in. In my headcanon the first admiral Janeway accidentally saves the federation when she gets her younger self back home sooner (I personally choose to believe that the Picard series is from an another altered timeline…).
I’m really hoping to see some goofy (or fashionable idc) civilian clothes in starfleet academy. The uniforms are cute, and I like the hoodies. But I want full DS9 promenade looks
I feel like they had the opportunity to do this in the college bar and on their break episodes, but they all just wore less formal school stuff.
I feel like some of the actors’ fits irl would be so perfect in 32nd century.
I fee up like this is like something passes down from Laxwana Tori’s closet, just updated
And can’t you imagine Darem and Jay-Den in this wedding afterparty fit
I love Kerrice’s style so much. I feel like like everything in their closet is so futuristic and fun
Look at that Wesley Crusher ass sweater. I LOVE IT
