Ramadan Reflections - welcoming last ten days of Ramadan
Tonight will be our first odd night of Layla-tul-Qadr inshaAllah. Now that these long-awaited ten days are finally here, I am anxious whether or not I’d be able to end this blessed month on a spiritually strong note as I’d planned- to gather His blessings, to seek forgiveness, to attain salvation from Hellfire, to find the blessed night of Layla tul Qadr- to bid it farewell the way the companions of RasoolAllah (saw) did.
I regret not cherishing and making the most out of each moment of ramadan in the last twenty days. I regret letting myself get distracted by the matters of this dunya. I regret moments when I gave into the demands of my nafs when I should have been doing a little more dhikr, a few more nawafils.
However, I find hope in the words of Hasan al Basri when he says: Improve your performance in what is left (of time) and you will be forgiven for that which has already passed. So take special care of the time you have left because you do not know when your soul will be turned over to Allah’s Mercy.
Like Ibn al-Jawzi said, “When the race horse knows that it is nearing the end of the track it exerts all of its effort to win the race. Do not allow the race horse to be more clever than you. For verily, deeds are judged by their conclusions. So if you didn’t do well with welcoming Ramadan then perhaps you will do better bidding it farewell.”
Let’s be determined to find the night of layla-tul-qadr in the upcoming days and let’s all strive to do our best in these ten days and end this month such that our starved souls feel satisfied and loaded with fuel for the rest of the year inshaAllah! Remember me in your duaas. May Allah make it easy for us all. (amen)

In case you need proof that animals can lie.
The couple who marries for the sake of Allah, knows that life is too short for meaningless arguments. They don’t marry thinking “What can this person give me”. They marry thinking “What can I give this person”. Because they know that fulfilling each others rights equals gaining the love of Allah. Bi’idnillah.
Salam Peace be upon you, I have started this campaign to raise funds for a family of four orphans and their weak and helpless widowed single mother in Pakistan who have no means of supporting themselves or voice to reach out to you. Two months ago, Sofia (age 35) suddenly lost her husband beca...
Assalam o Alikum, I hope you all are having a blessed month of Ramadan. I have never posted a donations request on my blog before but this one is very close to my heart. Someone I know recently lost her husband and is now a single mother to four young children with no assets or source of income. Their landlords have kicked them out of the house and they are in urgent need of your help and support. Be it a dollar or five dollars that you wanted to spend on coffee or that twenty you wanted get a manicure with can cover someone’s food expenses or contribute to providing them with a roof. Your zakat, sadaqat and donations (or those of your family?) would become a means for you to gain proximity to the Prophet (saw) in Paradise by helping orphans inshaAllah!
I’d really appreciate it if you share the cause. JazakAllah Kahyr!

“My mother lost her eyesight slowly. At first her eyes began to change colors. The doctor told us that she needed a surgery, and I promised her I’d get the money. It was my dream to save her eyesight. I did some repair work. I helped our neighbors with construction projects. But I ran out of time and she went completely blind. Soon afterwards she fell very sick. She had to stay in bed for months. I was always there by her side. Even if there were a lot of people at home, she only felt at peace if I was next to her. I cleaned her. I fed her. I put my number on speed dial so she could call me at work. Toward the end she began to imagine things. My family thought she was losing her mind, but I think she was just lonely in the dark. She told me that she saw children. She told me there were princes coming for her. I’d sit and talk with her about the things she saw. I kept talking to her after she fell into a coma. I prayed with her. I asked her to forgive my father. I asked her to forgive me for not saving her eyesight. I didn’t have the money. But I gave her all that I could, which was my service.” (Jakarta, Indonesia)
