ADoW, 3x01 - Sarah Bishop (from @witch-vamp-demon)

character commentary: Hi, @hardblazesong! Sarah goes thru the several stages of grief. first, she wants to travel back in time to warn Em not to get murdered --- but claims the real purpose of the trip iz to talk about the page from the book.

later, Sarah thinks about the children of a vampire and a witch, and recoils in horror. wow. rude.

and finally, Sarah finds a kindred spirit in Fernando. it's Fernando who reminds Sarah that she and her wife, Emily, were welcomed at Sept-Tours --- but Fernando and his mate did NOT receive the same acceptance.

character commentary: Hi, @hardblazesong! Gerbert could NOT wait to tell Baldwin about the witches and demons at Sept-Tours. and to push Baldwin's buttons, Gerbert compares Baldwin to Philippe --- just to make Baldwin look impotent. incompetent. and weak.

character commentary: Hi, @hardblazesong! it was brave for Agatha to remove Peter Knox from the Congregation, knowing Peter will seek revenge against Agatha, Nathaniel, Sophie and Margaret. and yet, Agatha still sought justice for Em. THAT took courage.

ADoW, 3x01 - Baldwin de Clermont from (from @witch-vamp-demon)

character commentary: Hi, @hardblazesong! at the family dinner, Baldwin slams his hand on the table when Diana implies the Covenant iz obsolete. now did Baldwin get angry becuz somebody made a negative comment about the Covenant? or becuz it was a Witch who made the negative remark? or iz it both? i also think Baldwin iz mad that he was NOT involved with the decision to bring a witch into the Clairmont family.

now let's talk about Baldwin meeting with Domenico. if Baldwin trusts Domenico, then Baldwin iz a fool. and although i AGREE with Baldwin sending Matthew to hunt the blood-rage vampire (becuz only a blood-rage vampire can handle another blood-rage vampire), i think Baldwin gives Matthew this assignment as some type of punishment. in short, Baldwin iz mad (and jealous) about Matthew's trip to see Philippe in 1590s France. he's even more upset that Matthew brought a witch into the family ---- but if Philippe approves of Diana, then Baldwin can STFU.

character commentary: Hi, @hardblazesong! NOT attending Em's funeral iz the most powerful statement Ysabeau makes. it speaks volumes about Ysabeau's character. i think Ysabeau iz ashamed of her past, and showed more respect to Em and other witches by NOT attending, then if she had gone.

character commentary: Hi, @hardblazesong! much like Satu seeks independence from Knox, Marcus wants independence from Baldwin. and can you imagine the things Marcus could accomplish with Baldwin out of the way? for starters, Marcus could reinvent the Knights of Lazarus. he could also deepen his relationship with Phoebe. and i could be wrong, but i think Matthew will eventually start a new scion. what’cha reckon?

Hi, @hardblazesong! there are TWO things that stood out to me in the Season 3 premiere (and i’m too lazy to type this all out --- HA!!). #1 - the seismic shift between Matthew and Marcus. #2 - Diana iz now under Baldwin’s command.

also, did you see the preview for episode 3x02? Matthew tells a room full of scientists that he’s a vampire. Wow. anyhoo --- let me know whatcha’ think, and i’ll talk to you soon! -- from, @witch-vamp-demon

character commentary: Hi, @hardblazesong! where do we begin? let's start with Matthew's confrontation with Marcus. that was tense. clearly, Matthew does NOT hold the same sway with Marcus as before. then again, Matthew chastising Marcus for NOT protecting Emily against Knox, even though Marcus risked life and limb to fight a powerful witch, was bound to get tense.

i also get the impression that Matthew iz upset that Marcus has a human G/F. oh, that's rich. Matthew marries a witch --- but Marcus can't have a human G/F? and i hope Matthew does NOT think Phoebe iz a distraction for Marcus. like if Marcus wasn't busy with Phoebe, then Emily would still be alive --- becuz that iz NOT the case. besides, after hiding the truth about blood-rage from Marcus... Matthew iz the last person that can criticize Marcus.

as for Baldwin's confrontation with Matthew... it's odd to see Matthew subordinate to Baldwin. i mean after watching Matthew meet with Elizabeth I, and reunite with Philippe... it seems beneath Matthew to havta follow orders from Baldwin. i just don't think Baldwin iz in the same league as Elizabeth and Philippe.

and how about Diana? now she falls under Baldwin's command --- just like Matthew.

character commentary: Hi, @hardblazesong! it's funny to watch an episode that does NOT have Diana doing battle, or making some fantastic new discovery about her powers. that said, Diana does discover she's carrying twins. and Diana will do ANYTHING to keep her children safe.

now let's talk about Diana's new relationship to Baldwin. accepting Philippe's blood-mark means Diana now answers to Baldwin, just like every other member of the de'Clermont family. answering to Baldwin iz gonna be tough --- but it was the only way for Diana to mate with Matthew.

comments: Hi, @hardblazesong! first off, i have NOT watched the 2nd half of Season 2 (becuz scene-by-scene breakdowns take time). however, i'm watching Season 3 eps as they're broadcast on TV.

Domenico iz helping Baldwin for his own selfish reasons (to get Venice). i'm guessing that's Benjamin who's wearing the "de Clermont" ring at the end of this episode? and Diana iz right to trust Christopher Roberts in Kensington. i just hope Peter Knox or Gerbert do NOT kill an innocent scientist (Christopher Roberts).

and did you see the preview for the next episode? ? ? Father Hubbard returns. Matthew tells a room full of scientists that he's a vampire. and Satu declares her independence from Peter Knox. i can't wait! and WHAT did you think of the Season 3 premiere?

comments: Hi, @hardblazesong! first off, i have NOT watched the 2nd half of Season 2 (becuz scene-by-scene breakdowns take time). however, i'm watching Season 3 eps as they're broadcast on TV. and this iz NOT a review. just a few comments. Baldwin iz making a HUGE mistake by telling his family to leave Knox alone. and mistake #2 iz the Clairmont family dinner at Sept-Tours. Baldwin does NOT invite Sarah, Hamish or Miriam. he insults Matt and Diana's union --- and their unborn children. and then Baldwin forces all the witches and demons to leave Sept-Tours.

that said, i do agree that Matthew should hunt the blood-rage vampire. Matthew can handle any violent attack, while delivering his own. sidenote, i think Benjamin iz the blood-rage vampire in England. that's just a guess. i have NOT seen any other episodes from Season 3. i only watch what they broadcast on TV. i agree with Marcus and Gallowglass in starting their own scion that's separate from Baldwin --- becuz it's clear that Baldwin iz a slave to tradition, and can NOT meet the moment of today’s changing world. however, Matthew iz NOT ready to start a new scion (at least, not yet) --- but i think that will change.

Fernando's grief about Hugh got me a little misty. and it's EXACTLY what Sarah needs to hear.

Happy New Year!! first off, i have NOT watched the 2nd half of Season 2 (becuz scene-by-scene breakdowns take time). however, i'm watching Season 3 eps as they're broadcast on TV (even though i got the entire season, all 7 episodes, from the internet). and this iz NOT a review. these are just a few comments about this episode.

can you believe it? Diana iz having twins! that iz sooooo Luke and Leia (Star Wars). it's also good to see Gallowglass again --- this time in the 21st century. and i feel HORRIBLE for Sarah. losing Emily iz like Sarah losing her own life. sidenote, Em's funeral was both beautiful and sad.

now let's talk about Peter Knox. i'm GLAD Agatha had him removed from the Congregation. the murder of Emily Mather demands justice. and imo, Satu voted for Peter's removal so she can take his place as the senior witch. that's what happens when you deal with greedy, ambitious folks.

that said, now that Peter has nothing to lose... he's more dangerous than ever ---- as Agatha warned her son. and WHAT did you think of the Season 3 premiere?
