It's like claiming there's a special kind of oppression called heteromisogyny that only straight women face as if they are not treated as the default type of woman.

"TWERF" means "Trans Woman Exclusive Radical Feminist". A lot of TERFs are actually relatively friendly towards trans men, at least publically. They probably don't like them very much, but their main target continues to be trans women and other transfems. Thus "TWERF" became a term.

Transphobia is transphobia yes, but trans men don't have to deal with transmisogyny. Something really important to realize is that trans men are invalidated into women, but trans women are not invalidated into men. We are invalidated into sub-women. Into predators and degenerates. To the oppressor, a trans man is a confused woman to be corrected, and a trans woman is a sex offender to be disposed of. That's why transmisogyny is an important term, and transandrophobia isn't.

A TWERF is a Trans Woman Exclusionary Radical Feminist. A specific type of TERF that includes trans men in their "feminism" but excludes trans women. Some trans men are twerfs, some cis women are twerfs. Basically instead of general transphobia they focus in on transmisogyny. There's other stuff that smarter people than me could add but that's the gist.
