Zero Faelight & Allira Salo – "The Reluctant Allies & The Unlikely Bond"
In the Past
Allira Salo (then):
"I clawed my way to the top of Piltover, bled for every ounce of power. And now this Zaunite upstart struts into my city like she belongs—like she sees something I’ve missed. She’s naive. Idealistic. Dangerous. And worse… she makes me wonder if I’ve forgotten what I used to fight for."
Councilor Allira Salo had never believed in chance.
His rise through Piltover’s political machine was calculated—refined charm, ruthless negotiation, and the occasional veiled threat. So when Enforcer Zero Faelight, a woman from the underbelly of Zaun with eyes like cut steel and convictions that refused to bend, began interfering with his carefully spun web of control, he was furious.
She was disruptive, impudent, and frustratingly pure. But behind his disdain hid something else—an intrigue he couldn’t admit. He told himself it was strategic.
Nothing more.
Zero (then):
"He stands for everything I’ve sworn to tear down. A silver-tongued politician wrapped in luxury while Zaun chokes on his city’s waste. But I’ve seen something beneath the polish… and I hate that I’m curious."
Zero didn’t trust Councilor Salo—not for a second.
She’d seen the way men like him worked: always with a smile, always with a price. He was everything she despised. But unlike the others, he never dismissed her.
He challenged her.
And when they argued in back rooms or clashed in front of the Council, something in her thrilled at the battle.
She’d never admit it aloud—but part of her craved those debates, the way his eyes lit with something raw whenever she refused to back down.
The Conflict
Allira Salo:
"She’s chaos wrapped in resolve. I tell myself she’s just another obstacle. But she lingers. The scent of metal and ozone, the echo of her words—I can’t get her out of my head. And the worst part? I don’t want to."
Zero became more than a thorn—she was a constant presence.
Every step he took, she was there.
Questioning. Pushing.
Staring at him like she saw a truth he hadn’t shown anyone in years.
Her determination infuriated him. But her passion? Her relentless desire to make things better?
It haunted him.
Zero:
"He plays politics like a violin, but I’ve heard the discord beneath the harmony. There’s something in him—something buried deep. I want to rip it open and see what’s real. And maybe… I want to see if he’s brave enough to do the same."
Zero knew what Salo was.
A manipulator.
A cog in a machine built on inequality.
But she couldn’t deny that something about him made her hesitate.
He wasn’t clean—but he wasn’t hollow either.
She should have hated him. Sometimes, she still did.
But other times—late at night, alone in her thoughts—she wondered if there was something between them that neither of them had words for.
The Shift
Allira Salo:
"She sees through me. And instead of recoiling, she challenges me to be better. I despise how much I care about what she thinks. She’s become my conscience… and my temptation."
It was no longer just politics.
Not for him.
He watched her with a hunger he tried to bury—respect tangled with longing, admiration laced with restraint. She pushed him, and he found himself rising to meet her.
She made him feel alive again.
And that terrified him.
Zero:
"He’s more than I wanted him to be. More than I can afford to believe in. I see the war behind his eyes—the fight he’s too afraid to name. And sometimes, I wonder if we’re fighting for the same thing… just from opposite sides."
Zero couldn’t reconcile the man she’d imagined with the one who looked at her like she was the only truth left in a city built on lies. Every time he let the mask slip, she saw the potential of someone who could change things—not for himself, but for everyone.
It was dangerous.
It was maddening.
And it was beginning to feel inevitable.
The Unlikely Bond
Allira Salo:
"She’s the only one who ever made me question everything. The only one who looks at me like there’s more beneath the suit and secrets. I shouldn’t care. I can’t afford to care. But gods, I do."
Allira started choosing his words more carefully.
Watching her reactions. Letting truths slip he never meant to share.
He knew what it meant to care for her, to want her—and he knew the price of that desire.
But some part of him—maybe the part she’d reached—hoped.
Zero:
"He’s still part of the system. Still the enemy, sometimes. But when he looks at me like that… I forget what side I’m supposed to be on."
Zero never let her guard down.
But in the quiet spaces—between arguments, between accusations—she caught herself thinking of him. Wondering who he might be if he let himself believe.
And wondering, terrifyingly, what they might be if they believed together.
What They Feel (But Can’t Say)
Allira Salo thinks:
"I want to believe we’re more than this game. But what if she sees the real me and walks away? What if she’s the one thing I can’t manipulate? And… what if I don’t want to?"
Zero thinks:
"If I let him in, what do I lose? But if I don’t… what if I never get another chance to be something more than just a weapon? What if he’s the only one who’s ever really seen me?"
