I most likely have been spending way too much time on social media apps that love pushing content that will purposefully piss you off, so you spend more time on them... but I also believe what happens online HAS an effect, to some degree at least, on what happens in real life too. So I want to say something. I also want to make something clear.

I'm tired of the queer discourse surrounding how queer people can identify, who can identify with which label, which way of identifying is the "correct one". I hate seeing it, I hate that it's still being pushed on my feeds, I hate that especially baby gays are so up in arms about it, from what I've seen. Lesboys, neopronouns, general discourse surrounding the connection between gender identity, gender expression and sexuality and/or romantic attraction.

No stable person that already has something going on with their life cares. No one should care. I don't care what arguments people want to give me either - I don't care that some trans men still feel connected to the lesbian label, I don't care about star/starself in bios, I don't care about anything like that. Because we as queer people should not feel obligated to "make sense" because only then apparently, we can finally be respected and treated as human beings.

We shouldn't normalise this idea that something as complicated as the experience of queerness and its journey of realisation and discovery should be dumbed down and simplified just because to some, not understanding equals not treating you with dignity and respect. People shouldn't be forced to erase all of their personal history just because you apply cishet rules to the queer community and then act shocked when that obviously doesn't work.

Queerness has always been and will always be "weird". Nuanced, and complex, and personal. Your identity DOES NOT suddenly make you a spokesperson of everybody under the same label as you. People with identities that don't make sense will always be a part of this community so you either accept that, educate yourself and ACTUALLY interact with the people you share struggles with, or you stay silent.

Also on this page, everyone is welcomed except people who can't get all of the info above through their thick skulls. We as the queer community have bigger problems to worry about then how someone describes themselves.

(not to mention that most of the people I've seen making those stupid arguments clearly lack knowledge of our culture and history, so please, for the love of God, check out some sources and actually talk to other queers first if you don't want people calling you out on your bs)

I know the rant is messy, but I had to get it out there and I don't know, maybe someone will realise there are better things to get mad about in this world.

apparently were I used to live close to 5 miles away from the old house I used to live at there is a camping site I remember and visited every summer when I was a kid till I turned 17 well apparently there actually filming the Friday The 13th Prequel series Camp Crystal lake there!
