a thing about me is i basically never notice a wig or other kind of hairpiece in tv/movies. it has to be party city territory for me to even twig it. people will complain about characters' wigs looking bad and i will nod along but there is like a 90% chance i did not notice for a second while watching. i consider this mostly a blessing.

listen it's not that I think epic the musical is a perfect adaption of the odyssey but it was an impressive passion project that knew what it wanted to be and knew what people gravitated to in the original work and it put significant effort into conveying this through its unique medium and tone to the point that hundreds of other people felt compelled to put effort into their own artistic interpretations of that version of the story. and that's really cool! and yes I would be more critical if it was a 100 million dollar project made by a professional because what the fuck do you mean you're a world-famous director and you cut the my name is nobody scene are you goddamn serious

#epic has awesome music strong theming and i'm so impressed by how it characterised the female characters and made them unique/agentive #not everyone's cup of tea but definitely mine

getting into cat genetics is so fun its like frolicking in a field I can look at any cat and ago aohoho thats a solid non-point blue (black with dilution) with no whitespotting and homozygous i/i on the inhibitor allele ahehe and then you look into how dog genetics work and its like peering into the mechanisms of hell. i dont know why any dog looks like that.
