           yuuki’s voice makes him blink,  having somewhat dozed under the last five minutes of the movie.  it leaves him reaching up to rub his eyes with the rose of his palm in the time he checks his phone. the smile that comes fits too easy,  too simple.  looks like it’s not just him that’s tired.  they should turn in soon.

This kid stood out like a sore thumb. There was a timid aura surrounding him, most likely due to the shop he was in, it must’ve been out of this kids comfort zone. No one else was here, not exactly the most calming situation, especially someone that looked as intimidating as him. Tossing that thought aside, he’d focus his attention on the two pieces of the model gun on his counter.

‘I can fix it, kid. However, I hope you’ve got the money.’

                HE  ISN’T  SURE  WHAT  HE  WAS  EXPECTING ,     but  a  lukewarm  welcome  right  off  the  bat  didn't make  that  list .  the  model  had  been  expensive ,  but  it was  his  own  fault  for  breaking it . one  moment  of  carelessness  had  earned  a  lesson .  he  wonders if  that's  why  the  keep  is  being  so  nice  about  this .   at the  same  time,  business  is  business .

he should be used to this by now,   asked to  defend  his stance on the  budding  popularity of the Phantom Thieves   —   his acrimony of it,  the way he  laces  his statements  venomously  and  factually  in regards to them.  The question is not an  exhausted  one,  however,  and nothing in his body language suggests that it bothers him in the slightest   (   even if it  does,  somewhere  –  deep in the  bones  underneath his skin   )   though he  lacks  the pleasant smile he held before,  replacing it instead with the  stern  expression of a  rookie detective  being  challenged  on his position,  his overwhelming evidence,  his held - up smoking gun.

❛ One could argue that they are  no better  than the very people they claim to reform.  These same people used their own influence to shift the perceptions of themselves in the eyes of others,  have they not?  They cannot be excused,  of course,  given that their actions are truly  abominable,  but can you say with certainty that the Phantom Thieves are not  akin  to them in some way?  That they themselves do not alter perception in order to force a  change of heart  in these people?    ——   then there is the matter of  how  they commit these crimes;  are you so comfortable with supporting a group whose methods may be truly heinous,  at best?  Given how little information we have as to  how  they are causing these criminals to confess  …  would it not make you uncomfortable if they were committing crimes in order to expose the criminal actions of those they  select  in turn?  ❜

He brings the case at his side somewhat closer,  eyes  boring  into the body of the other,  an intensity  snaked  into his statements.  ❛  ——   And even then,  who is to say they won’t lose their supposed  purity of heart  in order to select victims  less  villainous?  You cannot rightly say that a power such as that will not corrupt them.  It may even already  have.  Methods such as their’s  have  no checks nor balances.  Much of my reservations with their group lie  there,  first and foremost.   ❜

               “  OH  ...  IT’S  FINE .  ”      akechi's  intensitiy  is  a  mimicry  of  any  sort  displayed  on  the  programs  mishima  has  seen  in passing   — -   intimidating .   oppressing .   larger  than  the  expanse  of  space  mishima  finds  himself  in .   it's  enough  to  make  nerves  bubble  high .   make  him  take  far  too  long  in  his  own  reply .    they  stand  on  opposite  sides  of  all  of  this  and  for  good  reason :   mishima   KNOWS   things that  akechi  does  not .  mishima  has   direct  contact   with  those  the  detective  is  looking  into  and ,  by  a  lesser  margin , he's    RESPONSIBLE   for  some  controversy  as  well .   the  phan-site  is  quite  popular ;   he  wonders  if  the  other  has  given  it  any  mind .     (   a  part  of  him  hopes  otherwise  ) .  

 yet  a  part  of  him  has  to   worry   that  akechi  might  even  know  something  — -   he's  heard  a  compressed  version  of  the  answer  before ,  in passing ,   behind  a  camera  and  an  audience .  but  there's  far  too  much   room  between  words  to  allow   stress   to  seep  and   anxiety   to  latch  on .   curiosity . “  um  ...  would  it  be  better  if  everything  they  stopped  was  still  continuing   — -  or  if  they  never got  involved ?  ”     a  leap  in   bravery   on  his  own  part  and  of  his  heart .     “  sorry  ...  but  i  wonder .  there's  always  potential  for  corruption  but  it  doesn't  stay  to  just  the  phantom  thieves ,  right ?   everyone  is  at  that  same  risk . ”
