i was on Twitter a lot for qsmp related things But it genuinely got so FUCKING ANNOYING on there. why are people literally taking everything … so seriously !!!!!!!!! all of them just hating on a lot of the (very few) CC yet disguising it as a q!___. saying some CC get favourited by admins … A HUGE NON ISSUE !!!! THE BIGGEST NONISSUE EVER !!!!!!!!!!! also being furious with Katie’s decision ommmmmmmg . why on earth would she cater to what the audience wants her to pick ??????? why ??????? and taking it WAY too seriously. too many ppl crashing out. also people saying they hate q!ewrons character where it’s like yeah u can dislike his role bc he is a difficult character but people are genuinely hating on the character sooooo much it feels a little personal . people are just annoyed when what THEY want to happen … DOESNT happen …. obviously no brainer every twt fandom annoying as SHIT but omg actually had to leave it so I’m just gonna go back to posting cute Qsmp Clips of my Favourite moments …. 🫰🏼

Twitter truly cultivate one of the most toxic parts of fanbase. My theory is because a lot of people them are chronically online because no normal person would behave like that. It's giving putting headcanons over canon.

Also so many of them needs to work on their bias because I get you have your favourite pov but that doesn't mean that this is the only pov that exist. You can always tell when someone is hating on the character/creator because they favor someone else.

After a good while I finally got my hands on the twisted wonderland novel and man it really is so fascinating. I'm barley few chapters in and it already shows a different perspective then the mangas or even the game itself did. Definitely feels bit darker especially with the style of descriptions it has... Also from the first chapters you really can see the dread of being sudden transported to world of twisted wonderland.

Part of me is bit glad that the anime went with the manga story now that I think about it just because for now I feel like the manga story seems bit lighter?

Sometimes I think back to the fact that while ramshackle dorm was being fixed up after what happened to it in book 6 Yuu and Grim ended up staying at Pomefiore dorm and wonder how that came to be.

Thanks to book 3 we know why Heartslabyul was not an option and considering our stay in Savanaclaw I also understand why we wouldn't be too eager to stay there again. I also get why Octavinelle would be considered because while I imagine they definitely would be more than happy to provide a place to stay but it wouldn't be for free so obviously any other options would be better... But then we have Scarabia.

Scarabia dorm was a place we had stayed before and if I remember correctly we got our own room even though basically all Scarabia students were at the dorm during that time so clear there was enough space for us to stay at. To add to it Kalim is totally the type of person who would be more than happy to let us stay at his dorm for few weeks.

This brings be back to the question of how we end up at Pomefiore. I genuinely wish I could see the conversation that lead to that choice.

Now that I final was able to get to the book 7 I can't help but think about this one little detail (so spoilers for book 7 I suppose)

Yuu was effected by Malleus' spell but we didn't get our personal dream instead we ended up, if I understand things correctly, in Mickey's that is also connected with the mirror... Not to mention Grim was with us too and we just woke him up without a problem. Looking back at it now that we have seen dreams of others it feels even more odd in comparison. It was as if our body was affected but not our mind, at least not fully. On the other hand it also feels odd because I feel like Malleus would want Yuu to also have a happy dream of their own since he clearly sees them in positive light so it definitely was not coming from him.

Like I feel like there are some interesting implications here but I'm not deep enough in the lore to make something out of it.

Lately I have been thinking about about the scene where Jayce comes back to the main timeline from the perspective of that we learned in later episodes while trying figure out Jayce behaviour and I realised that very likely every answer that V and Salo had given him was wrong and when I say wrong I mean type of answer that would make Jayce think that V already crossed the line

Starting with his first conversation with Salo who very clear isn't the Salo Jayce knew immediately questioning how is he walking and then he see the first mistake that would definitely alarmed him which was Salo calling himself a broke creature (which is most not Salo thing to do let's be honest) followed by Viktor possessing Salo's body. For a guy like Jayce who came back from timeline full of robots and hextech doom that probably not a good thing to see.

This is why I think that when Jayce asked if Salo was still in there I have a feeling that he very likely meant the actual Salo and not the one that was part of the hive mind which means the answer he got from Salo would very likely makes things worse. Like no offence but something tells me Jayce didn't care about keeping things private and might have been more concerned about the fact that Viktor is possessing people. I'm guess the fact that Salo still isn't acting like himself didn't help.

And after that Viktor started yapping about his new hextech discoveries which was another bad choice because very likely Jayce hoped that Viktor abandoned the hextech reaserch since it would mean Viktor wouldn't be on his way to destroying the world. Unfortunately instead Viktor let him know that he given the thing that will led to apocalypse to the people.

So already things are not looking great but Jayce finally tells Viktor that they need to stop it because hextech is a curse and what Viktor said to that? Oh my you touch the arcane and I guess it mess with your mind. Like what a way to ignore the warning... Looking back at it Viktor's insistence on blaming Jayce change on the arcane and claiming that Jayce wasn't in his right mind was kind of messed up in the same way as Ximena claiming that Jayce is insane to get him lighter sentence was... But Viktor's denial aside Salo taking control over his own body and trying to leave with parts of the hexgate core was likely the nail on the coffin considering that this was where anomaly was and it was what was needed to ending the world.

All of this, when you ignore the tragedy of what followed, is bit funny since it's not really Viktor's fault it went so badly. Poor guy simply assumed Jayce would still be the Jayce he remembered. You know a person who doesn't hate hextech and still sees it as a miracle. Unfortunately this assumption and unwillingness to accept that Jayce change led him to tragedy.

Now after months it's really interesting to look back at season 2 and compare it to the first one because of how the very visible shift in the story between them. No matter if you like it or not the change was clearly there. Most likely it was because of the fact that a lot of writers that worked on first season didn't came back for the second.

The part were that shift is the most visible is the act 1 of season 2 because it is the bridge between the two seasons meaning writers had to deal with the consequence of the things that happened at the end of the previous season. This makes this act feel more like the story we saw before. The politics and conflict between Zaun and Piltover still mattered the we see the consequence of the actions done in the previous season but there is also a lot that feels bit off.

To put it into the perspective

On one hand we have Mel in the 1 act still being deep in politics and working against her mother as she can tell Ambessa is trying to have greater influence on the council. This makes perfect sense as a story like that fits what we saw of her in season 1 and her learning more about the posible motives flows nicely... And then that arc is cut short by Black Rose completely changing the focus of her story in quite sudden way.

On the other hand we have Jinx who in season 1 was established to fully embraced Jinx. For a moment we do get to explore the consequences of that and of killing Silco but that gets drop with introduction of Isha. Suddenly Jinx was allowed to be more like Powder and the story tries to push her into becoming the face of the revolution. With her the shift in her story feels less abrupt but also much clearer.

With Mel we saw them mostly abandoning any focus the show had on more political aspect of the story while Jinx was one of the first victims of writers finding shortcuts for quick but big character development. It's fascinating look at the decisions that the writers did to prepare for taking the story in quite different direction and wonder if it ends up actual doing it job well.

Something that I find endlessly fascinating is how Viktor despise being from Zaun and showing some care for it isn't part of the Zaun community.

Looking at his arc he was shown as an outsider both in Zaun and in Piltover with the second being the most obvious. When it comes to Zaun however we learn that he was not close with others when we got to see a bit of his childhood where Singed literally points it out.

With that in mind it's interesting to see that in season 1 Viktor's story is the furthest removed from Piltover and Zaun conflict, at least in comparison to all the other core characters. I'm pretty sure we don't see him advocating for Zaun by himself and we also can point out the fact that all of the inventions the boys of progress presented were worked focused rather then being anything that would add to quality of life for the undercity. Even the the placement the hexgate was ignoring the fact that it was next to Zaun water supply and their ventilation system, something that one would expect Viktor to know.

In season 2 things doesn't really get that much better because while he does go to Zaun and starts healing people there he doesn't really do anything about the problems connected to Piltover's oppression over Zaunites, rather he created an artificial paradise. Even the personality of people he was "healing" as well as their identity were gone and replaced as they became part of the hivemind.

There is something ultimately tragic about Viktor genuinely caring and wanting good for Zaun but never choosing solutions that would actually change the life of the Undercity for the better.

I think I have see in this fandom enough talk about Jayce and his feeling of guilt in season 2 which is something that is plaguing my brain right now.

First thing we see as the season starts when it comes to Jayce was him seeing Viktor under the rubbles. Viktor who was only there because of Jayce and now he was not breathing. This already starts the feeling of guilt in he Piltover's golden boy which leads him to desperation and make him willing to try using hextech to bring his partner back. I can imagine that the guilt only got worse when he was watching Viktor in the weird cocoon... And then Viktor wakes up, finally back alive and well! Too bad he also wasn't happy that Jayce bring him back and by doing so broke his promise. It was another time Jayce was trying to do something good but things just were getting worse.

Now we don't quite know what Jayce was doing after Viktor left except for the fact he most likely stayed in his lab to the point of sleeping there. My theory is that he was trying to figure out what exactly happened to Viktors body which too would come from guilt.

Now with that established it makes it pretty clear that when Jayce was stuck in the revine his guilt must have been all time high. After all he could tell that the destruction he saw in the universe that he ended up at was because of hextech. During the short scene we got of that time the whispers we are hearing are very much connected to his guilt as they speak of betrayal and how he promised and should have destroyed the hexcore. This of course being the explanation why his stance on hextech changed so much. Jayce had now not only the deep knowledge of the potential future mixed with the idea that he was the only one who could stop Viktor which is a terrible mix with the amount of blame he put on himself.

This of course makes me think how the way au Viktor told Jayce about the need to stop his Viktor was feeding into Jayce's guilt by essentially saying that that only Jayce save the world and his partner.

Something that I feel conflicted about when it comes to Arcane is Viktor being that saved Jayce when he was a kid because on one hand thare is something beautiful in thier life being always connected and them being each other's destiny however on the other... I dislike the idea that au Viktor basically locked Jayce in a path that always lead to the same or very similar outcome.

As silly as it makes sound what gives me the biggest ick about it Viktor telling Jayce, who is now fully aware that his creation was to blame for potential destroying the place he called home, that he is the only one who can make Viktor stop. There is something about the amount of time we see characters in season 2 being just put into specific roles without it being fully their choice.

But that's where is the weird beauty of season 2 writing, even though I don't like some the writing choices they all have a solid reason behind them and do make sense in the story itself.

I have see so many fics where Viktor stays in Zaun and/or ends up with Silco and it's great but hear me out

Jayce getting exiled, ending up in Zaun and Silco seeing the potential in him. I mean Jayce would be in similarly vulnerable position as Jinx was. He had no support system and lost his life work because it was deemed too dangerous and Piltover didn't even gave him a chance... Silco on the other hand doesn't really care about things being illegal or dangerous especially when he can gain something from it. To make it even more interesting we know for a fact that with right persuasion Jayce would be willing to make weapons and I feel like unlike Viktor he would also fully understand Singed and be willing to work with him especially if he got disappointed by Piltover's system.

Also Jayce Talis babysitting and teaching Powder about hextech.

Caitlyn Kiramman can be a main character that goes through a massive character arc where she starts out as a happy go lucky enforcer who is naive about the system she works for, thinks she can change it from within, ends up falling victim to her own prejudices that she hasn't had the time or wherewithal to work through, contributes to the system she thought she was dedicated to change, make some serious mistakes and harm others, feel immense guilt and self hatred for those mistakes, directly betrays the system in order to atone for those mistakes, and people will still say Arcane has a pro cop message in season 2.

I'm pretty sure because season 1 established enforceers as the bad guys or at the very least they were the part of the problem with Zaun oppression. Second season did nothing to change those views because we haven't really got to know any new enforcers that were shown in positive lighting. I'm blaming that one on lack of time because there was potential there. Instead we got Maddie who was traitor.

“Out of Character”

Hmm. Okay, this may be considered a hot take, please be nice.

I think, when someone is consuming media and they say “this character would not do that” or “why did they behave so out of character,” this is the wrong pattern of thinking.

If something is canon in fiction, then I don’t think that any part of the story is meant to be treated as an outlier or exception or that it “doesn’t count.” It *does* count if it’s part of the canon.

So instead of thinking “they behaved out of character,” you should analyze it again and include that part as being *in* character. The character *does* act like that. It *is* in character. You, maybe, just didn’t like their choices. That’s okay, too. But it’s incorrect to say they behaved “out of character” if that’s how the character was written to behave.

Also, you can consider that no one is totally stagnant all the time. People change, characters evolve.

I behave differently now compared to even just a few years ago, but I wouldn’t say I’m acting out of character. I’ve just changed a bit in response to events and time passing.

I feel like for me the critique that the character seems "out of character" in the show they are from can be used when you can tell something had changed in the very writing of the character.

For example I would say that technically speaking Viktor's savior arc is out of character as it pushes aside the fact that he is scientist at his very core and also puts him into willing leadership role which would something Viktor in s1 wouldn't look for. The thing with Arcane though is that most of stuff like that has an excuse in the story already, in case of Viktor it will be influence on hexcore.

Another problem is that lots of changes in characters happens without proper build up due to Arcane having only two making things feel off. Vi joining enforcers being the most annoying example of this. I s1 they gave us so much reasons why she hates them that the reasons why she ended up taking the badge felt flat. I wish they had more time to show Caitlyn trying to convince her bit more.

Ever since I finished watching season 2 of Arcane I couldn't help but be dissatisfied with Viktor's and Jayce storyline how they went with it. As much as it was great on it's own when you compare it to season one or, weirdly enough, the origina league lore it immediately feel off.

I feel like both of them suffered because Arcane had only one season to finish the story so in result the arc they got were made in a way that got them to the ending as fast as possible.

Jayce is the most in your face example considering that to get him to the point where he is willing to go against Viktor he had to literally get traumatised and get told by au Viktor that he is the only one who can stop the Machine Herald. That's why when you compare s1 Jayce with how he was in act 3 of s2 there is that strong disconet. I believe it's mostly because we only got small glimpse into his spiral. Still I think it's a shame they didn't have time to build conflict between him and Viktor in more natural manner.

This leads us to problem with savior Viktor's arc as for it to make sense you need to assume that most of his decisions are result of the hexcore influence. Starting with Viktor being willing to use his powers despite, when he was leaving Jayce, being against using hextech this way because of the potential consequences and ending it with Viktor's clear dislike of the idea of being the leader/being in the spotlight. Still like I said you can explain that with hexcore influence... Which honestly makes it worse as it push aside the fact that Viktor is a scientist at his very core. Here is where I think taking more from his og league lore could improve things. If we look at story of that Viktor we can actually see that the path to his ideas about glorious evolution was actually quite slow, from simply noticing how much of problems with the machines was due to human error to him seeing humanity as the core problem. It's a process that he was pushed into because the betrayals of people he trusted. Unfortunately arcane didn't have time for that.

In both cases I felt like what was missing is a moment where both Viktor and Jayce wanted to go their separate way creating organic conflict between the two especially if the conflict would boil down to machine vs humanity. This way it would give them more agency making it consequences more impactful.

You know something that is still bothering me after watch season 2 is the Savior Viktor arc. I mean don't get me wrong story wise it was interesting to watch and all however it was also kind of connected with the hints that he was influenced by the hexcore and that didn't sit right with me either as it made it seem like hextech was always bad but that's a rant for another time.

The point is I wish that instead of cult leader Viktor we got mad scientist Viktor that would be just bit closer to the og league Viktor. Not only it would let him have more agency in that part of the story but also I think it would be so fascinating if he knew exactly what he was doing when it came to creating the hive mind. Hell if that was the case we could have him leave Jayce after arguing with him about that, to have Jayce not understand for the first time. It would also mirror Heimerdinger and Singed.
