I'm working on a Rodeo/Modern Western AU with Jack as a rodeo cowboy (steer wrestling and tie-down) and James as the future heir of a large ranch (think King Ranch).

I would looove to read this! and maybe Elizabeth is a daughter of another rich rancher, and Will is a ranch-hand working for her father OR he crafts leather horse saddles!... hmmmmm

Sparrington Coffeeshop AU

Jack runs a coffeeshop, and James is an irregular regular who comes in every day at random times, and gets weirdly strong drinks, and he looks half dead and everyone is worried about him when they don’t see him for 2-3 days. He’s probably sick, maybe just decided to sleep for longer than 3 hours, nothing big, and when he got back he got tackled by Jack at the door.

Note: you could switch the roles, with James running the coffeeshop, and Jack being the weird customer, but for some reason, I just like seeing James being a disaster...

Another Sparington bar/pub AU with Jack as bartender/owner

Jack Is a bartender/owner, James is a sad/soft boi, and they like flirting with each other. One night, someone hits James (on purpose or not, I’m thinking Beckett...) when Jack goes to get more rum, and the entire bar/pub (*Jack’s friends who see those two are in love*) pounces on the guy. 

Maybe Jack takes James home, and Hurt/Comfort and soft cuddles for James, from Jack.

Sparrington Hospital AU

Jack is a drinker, (and so is James, but for other reasons). James almost dies of alcohol poisoning, Jack almost breaks his leg from dancing off a table, and they meet in the hospital (or they met at the same bar/pub). Jack has a little mental freekout when he sees James unconscious and hooked up to tubes and monitors, and thinks ‘What if that’s me one day?’. 

Jack’s friends come to pick him up, and Jack decides to visit James everyday for a week, and then takes James home with them and take care of him after he wakes up.

Sparrington or General Genderswap AU

James Norrington is secretly a woman (or trans, that also makes sense) who joined the Navy to escape their family. Elizabeth and James are arguing (with the crew & friends around) and Elizabeth accidentally rips James’s shirt and sees their breasts. Jack and Will have a heart attack (”Will. . . Norrington has boobies!”) and Elizabeth almost dies of embarrassment (”I’m so-o-o-o sorry James!”) and James is like “Well children, what did we learn here?” and is somehow the calm and collected one.

Sparrington Biker Gang AU

James and Elizabeth get divorced (not a bashing fic, they just fell out of love. it happens. and for context). Jack and his gang find him passed out and bleeding in the alleyway behind the bar, and Jack stays with them until the ambulance comes to pick up James. 

Jack secretly gets his number, and texts him later in the week. James is doing better, so they hang out. . . as soft caring friends. 

(Could be pre-romantic-relationship, or a brother-like relationship, your pick.)

Sparring College AU- James is from a rich family and listens to classical, jazz, etc. Jack is the campus weed dealer and listens to rap, rock, etc. They start dating and James finds the biggest problem is the music...

That’s it? the only problem? ma’boy James, I think you have other things to worry about. . . (do you think he likes lofi?) but dang. . . who asked out who? what do you think they are majoring/studying in? Oh! the possibilities are endless!

James asked Jack out after taking a hit of some of his good weed at a frat party because, let's be real, he's always had a rebellious streak. And yet, riding in Jack's beaten up car with Candy Shop, Pony, etc blaring is what makes him question things.

Jack broke his leg after dancing off a table, and James is a nurse. After three days of flirting in the hospital, Jack thinks he got rejected, but then finds James’s number on a piece of paper in his jacket after he gets home. Cue Jack being a flirt, and James being a soft blushing boi. . .

James kills Becket, and when the others ask what happened to him, James says “He was killed in an act of piracy, horribly dreadful thing really. . . “ and Barbossa tries to back him up “Yes, a true pirate that one. . . He who shot ‘em dead, I wonder who he was?. . . “

James Norrington owns/runs a pub, and Jack Sparrow and his crew are the town drunks who always show up when he wants to close for the night. 

Jack is also a tattooer, and the Black Pearl is his tattoo shop.

+ James has one of those huge navy ships on his back, and Jack has wings across his shoulders and his usual tattoos.
