Fripp has the ability to manipulate memories, he was never the leader of the druids, he simply manipulated all the members into thinking that he was.

He’s working with Dark Core to bring Garnok to Jorvik by making the druids run around and do useless tasks instead of actually protecting Jorvik.

Avalon knows Fripp doesn’t want to save the world and Fripp has blackmailed Avalon into keeping quiet and continuing like nothing is wrong.

Fripp isn’t actually in a coma, he just wants the soul riders to feel alone and helpless so that they’ll break easier. 

Fripp knew what was going to happen to Elizabeth and considers it a “step in the right direction” because she was truly passionate about saving Jorvik and would often get in Fripp’s way.

Evergray found out what’s going on, so Fripp manipulated everyone into thinking he was insane and sent him away.

Avalon begs Fripp to let him go every day after what happened with Elizabeth. Fripp has threatened to remove every memory Avalon has of Elizabeth if he steps out of line.

He intentionally causes fights within the soul riders, doesn’t train them to their fullest potential and will make them dislike each other and the rest of the druids so that they feel only Fripp can truly be trusted.

Every time I see someone saying…

“We need male characters because our character is supposed to be us and I’m not a woman!”

When did SSO ever say we’re supposed to be our character?

I’ve seen comments saying that it’s uncomfortable to play as a girl. Why is it such a problem?? I’ve also seen people say that SSE is sexist and unwelcoming to not include male characters. What?!

I see a story about a girl who finds herself a part of a sisterhood, destined to protect an island.

I’m a cis male and I’ve never felt weird about playing as a girl, and I find it quite ridiculous that people do feel that way.

Why do you want SSE to rewrite the entire story to make MC a self-insert? Why can’t MC be her own character?

Please, tell me what your thoughts are on this.

For transmasc and nonbinary players like me: dysphoria.

Like somebody else said, it’s less of an issue if you’re playing a pre-made character, but since we customize our character, for a lot players that can mean turning them into a version of us. I made my character when I still thought I was a girl, so she looks like me. She’s based on me. But I’m not a “she”, it turns out, and it’s awkward and uncomfortable that I can’t change my character to match.

The statement I remember from ages ago when I joined was something like “since so many games don’t let you play as a girl, we won’t let you play as a guy”, and I get it, but I also think that’s stooping to their level rather than being better by being more inclusive.

i have... opinions on star stable online restricting the player character’s gender and like. one of my biggest issues with it is that i do not understand why. sure, we are the reincarnation of a woman (whom for the sake of spoilers i will not name) but didn’t we have a whole quest arc a while ago literally spelling out to us that “a soul is not defined by the gender it’s born into”? does that only apply to horses because that... doesn’t really make sense to me. if you HAVE to put this restriction there please at least give a proper reason for it besides “we just think it should be that way so now it just is that way!”

SSE: the druids are the good guys, dark core is evil!

Druids: 

have us brainwash/mind control people within like a week of knowing them, knowing full well that the people we do it to will probably be ‘fired’ and disappear

kidnap and imprison a person they know was mind controlled without trial (they aren’t even a legal body! they can’t legally arrest people or hold them in prison! and legal bodies can’t just hold people indefinitely without a trial or charges! and there are numerous other things in that dungeon and we know at least one of those creatures is human-level intelligence!)

purposefully withhold and restrict information and refuse training/support to people they force into fighting for them, resulting in injury, trauma, and death.

use literal child soldiers to do the bulk of their dirty work.

did the equivalent of dumping toxic waste into a river and then condemned the people down the river as evil because they, rightfully, were upset and didn’t want to die. 

are cool with people kidnapping/imprisoning their child soldiers when it’s wealthy aristocracy that was mind controlled/hiding past embarrassments (double standard for people who are tricked+mind controlled into joining a cult, but hey nice blackmail material!)

repeatedly use the MC for extremely dangerous missions without training or back up, then disrespect/belittle the MC’s abilities. (we save all 4 of the soul riders and find/rescue 3 of the soul steeds, and Rhiannon thinks only after that we should receive training, and then we have to prove ourselves to Rhiannon.)

but yeah, the druids are the good guys here.

Also Darko? Why is this considering him not evil? I thought he is actually the real threat. He has the magical power to make it dangerous to face him alone (ISNT THAT RIGHT ALEX!!?). And he is intelligent to know when to act and when not to, which means out smarting him is tricky. And he has been shown to pull strings behind the curtains and behind Mr Sands back.

And to be fair, I think SSE know what they doing at this point with the druids. I bet they didnt think about in the early days but have now embraced it.

We have two soul riders questioning the druids, been shown that Catherine was treated badly by the druids and the previous soul riders, had ghosts tell us Jon Jarl was a shit head and he was actually feared, told us Galloper biggest crime was following orders blindly and that he regrets it. Have the druids tell us witches are evil but have Nic tell us witches arent actually evil but maybe avoid the ones doing black magic and let us befriend uncorrupt witch Pi and tell us the nice old lady by moorland is actually a witch herself. A very nice witch. Oh and yeah, the whole Justin part.

Ydris is bit more iffy. He isnt evil. He is mischievous but hes also on the other side of the conflict. We are trying to save our world but its hurting Pandoria, he wants to save his home even if it means destroying ours. He isnt evil, but can become our enemy if he feels like it will benefit Pandoria.

I belive sse wants us to question the druids motives and action. Im not sure if they will have them entirely evil. Like, try to kill MC evil. But they do want us to not trust them completly.

I really wonder when we are able to enter Fort Maria.. I noticed this cave-looking thing up there yesterday. It feels like the SSO team used to have some plans for Fort Maria first when Epona opened, but then they just forgot about it.. Just like with many more other things in the game.
