Flower Lamps
Fully opened up from this morning.
I did a ritual back in January at our first snowfall to consecrate what I’m calling Morana water and using in her rituals.
And, yes, I’m using the apple bottle to store this particular water because of the Snow White vibes.
March is coming. Which is the best unofficial Slavic holiday in March

IDK man, I just don't know that tumblr is the right medium for setting up a cult these days.
People sure do try it, though.
Then again, maybe it's not that tumblr is dying so much as the fact that thirst for power and control alone can't compensate for a complete lack of charisma.
You know what? I've decided it's time I pass on my wealth of knowledge to a small number of worthy students.
In order to effectively teach you, I'm gonna need to isolate and reprogram you. lol it's not a cult ;)
THIS IS NOT THE TIME FOR "YES, AND"
do we get kool-aid
IT'S FLAVOR AID, ALRIGHT??
COMMON MISCONCEPTION.
Cults just seem like they'd be a lot of work, y'know?
Even if you can get the followers doing all of the work, that's just way too much socializing for me.
Is there like an online option for the cult where I can join the discord and sign up for a newsletter but forget to use/read it yet still technically be in the cult?
So I think I forgot to post about it here but I'm knitting my own wedding dress.
Edit to add materials: I'm using suri silk alpaca (apparently I'm slightly allergic to mohair?), and glass beads for the silvery and pearl beads.
Well, this crossed a lot more people's dashboards than I anticipated... my notes have been nutty for about a month and I haven't known how to respond. One thing I have wanted to say is that while this is a big project, it isn't as insanely hard as it looks. It's just the sheer amount of stitches and beads and time to do it. Time is gonna pass anyway, so if you give yourself enough time you should be alright. I started this in October last year but I haven't been working on it constantly, there have been months where I haven't touched it at all and I've even doubted that I'll like the garment at the end of it. The beading rows have been hell.
The inspiration for this project started with this image that I originally saw on Pinterest and a long trip into a deep research rabbit hole:
Another two images that were picotal in working out what I wanted to do were these: This dress from Alexander McQueen's Ready to Wear FW 2008 collection (which btw, this appears to just be an adapted shawl pattern which exactly what I did):
And, this piece by Veronica Filina:
Anyways. Thank you for the attention, it's helped keep me motivated to finish! In appreciation of that, here are some of the hashtags I've giggled at:
And the one that made me think "yes, you get it!":
UPDATE: I've cast off! I haven't been able to block it yet, but that will happen in the next month as it gets warmer here. I still have the underdress and possibly a jumper to finish making for it as I'm not sure if I'll be wearing this little bolero with or not. Anyways, here are some photos:
Those of you who follow me may be aware of Mathilda’s story — she traveled from Germany to the front lines in Ukraine, where she was murdered* by the russians while serving as a combat medic.
(*And I consider it murder when a.) it’s an unlawful invasion and b.) when the aggressor blatantly violates international law when waging war, and goes out of their way to kill civilians and medics.)
My friend @radaghastly snapped this for me while in Kyiv this year. It hit me like a ton of bricks, both because this was someone I knew only as an online friend; and because it’s a testament to her sacrifice, and to the character of a grateful nation.
Today marks three years since the beginning of russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and this year marks eleven since its illegal annexation of Crimea, to say nothing of Ukraine’s extensive past as a war-torn country. You need only to know history to understand the importance of standing on the right side of it, which is a fact lost on the current US leadership, who feels that betraying an ally and conceding to the aggressor is the right move.
You need not be a defender, or live in a war zone, or even be ethnically Ukrainian to understand the threat posed by russia. You just need to know who the good guys are and be willing to stand up for them. The US has learned habits of complacency and entitlement because they have no living memory of what it’s like as a country to face such a large, existential threat. And it’s those same habits that have helped lead us to where we are today.
My support for Ukraine has only grown stronger since the war started and since I started learning about their resilience as a people. They exemplify ideals that the world can learn from, that when it comes to a threat like russia, that the approach is all-or-nothing. There is no such thing as a “measured response” to tyranny and authoritarianism; you meet the challenge head on and beat the enemy into total submission. Ukraine represents a pivotal moment in our journey as a species and as believers in a free, democratic society, that we either support Ukraine’s right to freedom and sovereignty, or let ourselves become a victim to despotism and oppression.
The world is anxiously watching.

If you have any UPG with your deities what is it?
My biggest thing of UPG is that Lady Aphrodite likes coke lol. I seem to always have a really good day right after I give her one, and I just get good vibes lol.
Thanks for the question!!!
This is delusional. Aphrodite is not in reality “drinking” your coke, she doesn’t take any of the “energy” or “taste” of the corn syrup and sugar. She isn’t in reality taking anything from you or the drink so how could she “like coke”
Do you see how silly this sounds? I don’t mean to put you down but really. Think about what you’ve said here.
If you want to offer something to the gods, offer art, offer study of their true being, nature, and message. Offer to spread their beauty and teachings to any and all who may not know them. Offer the promise that they will never be forgotten and that their children will always love them
They have no need for your coke or berries or whatever physical thing you may place to spoil on an altar. Eat those things yourself
Delusional? Do you hear yourself?
You don't mean to put them down? Then shut up and let others practice how they practice.
Just because you don't share food and drink with deities doesn't mean those are not proper offerings. They are, and have been for a very long time.
Delusional. Wow. Have the day you deserve.
But looking at the rest of your blog your "temple of Zeus" is just a cover for "Joy of Satan", a.k.a. a cult. So get wrecked
Heya!
Remember how OP asked for a UPG from @wingsofaphrodite? UPG stands for Unverified PERSONAL Gnosis: Which means your opinion wasn't asked for @zeus-is-god !
It's great you have other ideas of how to connect and work with your deities but however you were not specifically asked this question so you should really stop trying to change how other people work with their deities!
Sit down and reflect on yourself on why you feel the need to force others to practice the way that YOU deem proper. You're not a paragon of a leader with a following.
You're just another tumblr user.
Denying the validity of material offerings (a major part of many devotional practices the world over) is way more of a left field belief than "Aphrodite likes coke" lmao

i don't generally bother posting the stuff i knit exactly from existing patterns but i finally wove in the ends on a couple frankensteined socks and figured i might as well throw them up here? they're very dumb but i'm fond of them.
for the first pair i made up a colorwork pattern for the feanorian heraldic symbol, and slapped it together with the pisqu sock structure and toe pattern, and a snippet of a mitten for the sole halves. the yarn is 100g of jamieson's of shetland that i got on the high street of fort william, as a treat after walking 100 miles from glasgow to get there, and i had... maybe 10 yards total left over? i had to cut off the long tail from my cast-on and use it to graft the toe closed on the last sock; it was nerve-wracking. if i did this pattern again, i'd probably put the toe motif in between the two heraldic lozenges, but the first time through i wasn't sure how the math would work out so i frontloaded them. ah well!
the second pair is the structure of an existing sock i've forgotten the name of (worked in the round from the tip of the heel to a hat-like shape with six sides; two opposite ones are grafted together to form the instep and the other sets of two open into the cuff and close into the toe), with the colorwork pattern from the gogink sweater yoke. i thiiiink you could do this with basically any colorwork sweater yoke, but i've only tried it with this one. if i did it again i'd add some short rows to the front side of the cuff; the construction sort of pulls it down so that the heel side of the cuff is higher than the front, and a couple short row rounds would probably level it back out. i like these because they neatly smash the cuff-down/toe-up binary and make everybody mad, and i am at all times an imp of the perverse.
beautiful!! for the second pair - I've seen that called "heel out", although idk if there's really a consensus. either way, searching Ravelry for socks tagged "start-in-middle" brings up some more like that. what a cool way to adapt a sweater motif! <3 funky sock constructions

Pretty proud of my handmade corset belt! This is my second attempt at a corset and the first time I like how it sits.
Made with a thrifted bolt of a mystery woven wool blend, with cotton canvas as the stabilizing layer, flexible metal bones for ribbing, and machine embroidered flowers I spent way too long working on.
