This scripture says to train your children while they are young. Drive it in their minds to respect others. Let them know that the color of their skin has no bearing on how they will turn out. Explain to them that not because someone has a light skin means they are superior to their darker counterparts or not because someone has a darker skin means they are less than their lighter counterparts. What happened in the past was history, nothing wrong with teaching children history but make sure to teach them that in this world that they now live in they are all equal. Let them know that they can accomplish anything that they put their minds to. Even if your family is not well off, that does not define who they are. Don't drag the past otherwise, the children will never be able to come out better than you. As parents, that should be your focus - for your children to turn out better than you, that they accomplish more than you ever did. The change has to start from us in order for the next generations to change. It's going to be a slow transition but eventually, the children's mentality about respecting others, and their views of their fellowmen will change. They will pass everything that you had taught them to the next generation and hopefully racism will go away. Inequality will vanish. We have to empower our children with self respect, self confidence, and knowledge. Let them know how God created them and how He views each and everyone of them. Tell them every day that they are loved. Fill your house with a positive environment. In order to break the chain of racism, it has start from you. The second part of this scripture says that if you train them while they are young, and give them the proper instructions, that they will never depart from it even if they grow old.
