“I don’t know… I know it’s over, and there are still so many things to do, yet at the same time… I feel lost…” Katara sighed, her gaze went straight ahead, towards the horizon where birds flew through the orange colored sky. “What’s next? What now? Do we just go back to where we came from and continue the work from there?”
Zuko stayed quiet, his eyes never leaving her. The sun was beginning to set but it was still felt comfortably warm. Honestly, it was a relief just to be outside, away from the coldness of the healing ward. The lightning mark on his chest would scar, Katara said, but he realized he didn’t mind it.
He reflected on her words. Going home, huh?
Home felt like a strange concept to him now. Does he even want to go back? Want and duty tend to never went hand in hand.
“You’re quiet…” Katara turned her head slightly towards him. “Fire Lord Zuko” Her voice tone changed into a teasing one that made Zuko’s cheeks burned faintly.
“Stop that,” he muttered, looking away.
Katara let out a small laugh before returning her gaze to the distance. “Well, I guess we both have our duties waiting for us, right?” She shrugged with a smile, but Zuko didn’t miss the small sadness beneath her tone even though he wasn’t sure what was causing it.
“I suppose we just have to enjoy this moment of quiet while we can,” she added, sighing contentedly. “But I do wonder what the future holds for us”
Zuko remained still, simply watching her. He watched the way the breeze brushed the strands of hair against her face, the way the light caught her skin, and how beautiful she was like this…how she looked truly at peace for once.
He had figured out his answer long before this moment. He couldn't say it out loud…not now, at least, he had the tendency to ruin a moment and he wasn’t about to do it again now. But looking at her, he knew that he don’t want any versions of future don’t have her in it.
idk who needs to hear this but it’s healthier for you to just accept that you’re gonna be kinda fat than it is to live the rest of your life miserably trying to monitor yourself to maintain a skinny weight your body doesn’t want to hold onto
i'm still mad they killed E3. if they're gonna release a string of commercials the least they could do to get me to watch is to perform a self-humiliation ritual of their c-suite executives on stage try to seem cool. They don't even wear gamer T-shirt and blazer anymore.
