So I’ve wanted to start an art tumblr for a minute, would you be able to give a new artist on this platform words of advice?

Hi there! I know everyone says this but my number one advice is to keep practicing! Do the kind of art that makes you happy. Don’t feel bad if you haven’t posted in a while, and you don’t have to post everything that you draw if you don’t want to. I haven’t drawn in 2 years because I’ve been focusing on my physical and mental health. Back then I would’ve felt bad for not drawing but now I don’t, I’m just taking a break and I’ll get back to art whenever I feel like it!

I had always been insecure of my art since I was a child until just a couple of years ago where I finally became proud of it. I started with a small following and it took many years until my artwork got noticed by others. Surround yourself with friends who are supportive of your artworks and maybe even join art communities to make friends with other fellow artists (like maybe a Discord server).

Also, ngl, my art only got noticed when I started posting N S F W art. I enjoy creating erotic artworks and if it something that you enjoy as well then you could give it a try as well! People enjoy that kind of art even if they are not in that fandom or don’t know the character(s).

Thank you so much!! I’m really happy to hear that. Over the past 2 years I’ve been working on recovering from depression and anxiety so I haven’t done art but I hope to get back to it someday!

genuinely wouldn't worry about your work showing up on 4chan, anyone who's viewing it there generally likes the character/pairing, and you're still being credited. not all boards on 4chan are the same and it seems like anon was just being alarmist, lol

ahh at first i didn’t realize the board was for people who like the stuff. it would be nice if they had asked the artists and this is unfortunate for the artists whose artworks in there are only available in their patreons
