Nicolas being the one to help take off Lestat's stage make up night after night—and then the first time he sees Lestat again after Magnus...he goes to wipe at his face, as though there's makeup to be removed ...but that's just Lestat's face now....poreless and pale...rosy-lipped...shadowed eyes...WRONG eyes, beautiful but wrong?
