gonna go start bar fights so I can get a cool facial scar
This one time we filled a glass forty bottle with gasoline and threw it in the bon fire. It exploded into my face and now I have three not so cool scars on my face
And two broken teeth
what did you expect to happen
The Lord to protect me
King honestly
UK gov really out here saying they’re trying to tackle ‘obesity crisis’ especially in the working class but don’t understand that even if you could afford to buy fresh ingredients (even cheaply!) it’s unusual for parents who work two jobs or who live in poverty have the time and recourses to cook nutritious meals?? poor on money and poor on time! a privilege isn’t restricted to wealth or stature but extends to being able to afford an hour or more to learn a new recipe and cook it. The audacity to criticise those in poverty for the way they feed their children when mainly they can’t even feed themselves at the same time??? dntnfdjzifnsnakakfghr
Ways to decolonize your aesthetic
These are tips I’ve picked up from my own (frankly minimal) reading, so I’m sure there’s tons more I’m missing but, start by knowing the answers to these questions:
Whose land are you on?
Where are they now?
What agricultural practices were used to tend to this land?
Are there POC (especially if you’re american, BIPOC) in your desired aesthetic?
Are POC in your aesthetic well-received by the community?
Are they only in stereotyped roles?
Are their concerns being lifted up?
Are you attempting to run from/hiding from problems that you could use your privilege to help solve?
What products/companies are you supporting/boosting in your aesthetic?
Are there more sustainable/small businesses/marginalized people who sell/create these items you could support instead?
Are you critically engaging with the dreams behind the images you’re sharing?
whenever anyone mentions that they were talking abt me I get this weird but kind of comforting feeling that I exist to a person outside of our own relationship,, like?? u talked abt me??? u thought of me when I wasn’t there????? i exist to u when I’m not around????!!!!!!?
basically, i think the general rule of thumb is: if someone REALLY wants the blood that’s inside of your body, and they’re like… a vampire, or a dracula, or some sort of mansquito, then that’s probably okay. a dracula and a mansquito are made for removing things like blood and swords from inside your body. that’s basically fine.
if something wants to get at your blood, and they’re, say, some kind of murdersaurus, or maybe a really big frog, that’s where the problems start to arise. a really frog is not made for removing blood, and your blood knows this, which is why it is so vehement about wanting to stay IN your body instead of coming out.
unfortunately this will not deter a really big frog, because a really big frog is full of things like prizes, and value, and quite a lot of hatred, and it would REALLY rather like to replace any and all of those things with your blood, and basically by any means possible.
These words scan with a fantastic degree of confidence considering that together they make no sense at all
me hanging out with black people in the summer: “aye, yall don’t forget to put on sunscreen”
them:
@flipflibberinflippinghell
Use the Walgreens Brand which is pretty cheap and it does wonders and doesn’t leave me with a white cast. And I’m dark as hell so I hate looking ashy but not all sunscreens are made equally and it’s one of the better ones I’ve used.
Wait cocoa/shea butter and coconut oil don’t protect you from the sun we really do need sunscreen??
Yea fam. All that “we don’t need sunscreen” shit is a myth. Combine that with the fact that most dermatologists don’t know how to spot skin cancer in Black people and it’s a nasty combination.
Yeah, it’s harder for us to get it but when we do it’s deadly. I know two people who died of skin cancer, both were Black.
“While incidence of melanoma is higher in the Caucasian population, a July 2016 study in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology showed it is more deadly in people of color. African American patients were most likely to be diagnosed with melanoma in its later stages than any other group in the study, and they also had the worst prognosis and the lowest overall survival rate.”

Sorry about the link, I’m on mobile. But this is from August 2016, which I know isn’t the most recent but it’s still SUPER IMPORTANT. Y’all please wear sunscreen. With Google it’s even easy to find smaller, Black-owned brands.
https://blackgirlsunscreen.com/ is Black-owned!
I use this sunscreen from Walmart. It’s cheap, doesn’t leave a white cast, and smells pretty good.
Duuuude my family uses that and it’s Soo nice it even smells good
Same for brown people, are skin may be dark but we do burn!
Korean and Japanese sunscreens are also a great option for deeper skin tones! Their formulas are way more sophisticated that most US sunscreens, don’t feel greasy, and most don’t leave a white cast. Biore Aqua watery essence and Purito Centella green level sunscreen are especially nice and not crazy expensive
im not a people pleaser anymore im a huge cunt now

you might see news about the portland “wall of moms” (sunday 7/19, although they were out every night this weekend)
specifically what you should know about them, because everything in portland is far more complicated than the stories you’re hearing now that there’s national coverage, is this:
feds shot elsewhere first, through a hole in the wall of moms, at others
the wall of moms moved to cover more area, staying on the front line
then, the feds specifically chose a new 40mm munition that contains lead salts, known to cause cancer and birth defects, as well as methylene chloride and hexavalent chromium, also known carcinogens – while it explodes several times, skittering down the street, issuing smaller canisters of chemical agents and starting fires.
federal agents specifically chose to deploy cancerous, birth-defect-causing chemicals at the wall of moms

“I’m wearing all secondhand as I hardly buy anything new – a pink lace up top with a crochet cardigan and silk pajama bottoms with Dansko clogs. I get inspired by so many things: I love objects like vintage blankets and pillows for their textures and colors. I also look to female characters in fairy tales, scary stories and female subjects in art. Old photos of my mom and outfits I had as a child inspire me too. To me, style is all about portraying how you feel and what you are thinking about inside.”

how it feels to be told that american schools are forced to reopen in the midst of all that’s going on in this bullshit country
as a very privileged person, i have not had to deal with and am not affected by many of these events and things personally, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t matter. please, please, please, if you are able, do whatever you can to help those who are affected. raise awareness, sign petitions, donate, protest, educate yourself.
i currently working on a personal linktree and compiling a bunch of resources for multiple causes (blm, indigenous rights, covid, ice, yemen, etc.) and will put it in my bio. until then, here is an amazing compilation of links and resources for what you can do to support the black lives matter movement.
I hate when people use that as an argument to justify their homophobia. Being gay or lesbian at a young age does not mean they are thinking about sex!
