she had a shit ton of problems mentally, emotionally and morally
which don’t justify nor absolve her of all her mistakes and sins (esp with all the pain and suffering she has caused)
but wasn’t the entire thing all about sherlock being the emotional one?
the one capable of feeling and becoming human?
idk i just felt like this entire thing was a journey to get to the kind of sherlock that has chosen to be a detective not just as an alternative to getting high but to save or at least help those desperate enough, those backed into a corner, those with nowhere else to go
it wasn’t just love that conquered all
it was years of living without sentiment
years of trying to live as a machine
years of escaping that did not help heal wounds
all those years of being cold and heartless didn’t save sherlock
it was when he learned the importance of sentiment with the help of john and all his other friends that sherlock was saved
him forgiving or maybe at least showing concern for his sister wasn’t a huge leap and it certainly wasn’t out of place in my opinion
it showed a great deal of strength and development
it wasn’t for solely for eurus’ benefit
it was more of a huge step for sherlock
and she is still locked up in a prison, isn’t she?
they didn’t let her run free because yey through of the magic of love everything is well
she is still deemed dangerous and fcked up
it’s just that they chose to see her as someone with problems that she cannot help
so they accepted that without forgetting her sins, without forgetting all the blood on her hands
they tried to give her warmth, care and affection maybe with the hope that maybe someday she’d learn the way sherlock did
or maybe just because in the end she’s still the sister that cared for her family in the most twisted ways
