EXPLAIN
The writers for three houses watched LOGH and nothing can convince me otherwise.Â
But does anyone ask âHow is Ferdinand Von Aegir?â
Like what would Edelgard even do if someone sat her down and told her that humans invented Crestsâhumans actually stole Crests.Â
Her entire conspiracy theory is that the lizard people are controlling us through Crests but we made Crests AND we decided that Crests have value. Crests were ALWAYS gonna have value because they do things that people consider useful, like the Gautiers having a massive Crest boner because theyâre border guardians. Sure, realistically itâs possible, even probable, that a Gautier could control the border without a Crestâbut a Crest will most likely be a nonzero amount of help. Itâs not like the benefits of a Crest are imaginary. Dmitri is physically a fucking gorilla capable of ripping heads off with his bare hands because of his Crest. It would not be much exaggeration to venture that Dmitri survived the five-year gap partly because of the strength he got from his Crest. They have objective value.
Crests have a tangible usefulness that is always gonna have significant value in a medieval society largely concerned with combat. The perceived social value of Crests is not the Churchâs fault when it was always gonna happen.
If Nemesis had killed Rhea on the field and the Church of Seiros had never come to be, Fodlan would have the exact same type of society that strongly valued Crests.

Astrology: Three House Lords
A preview of the natal chart essays in @costarastrology âs format. (This took way too long because I couldnât figure out the base font, nearly cried.)
Some take aways:
- Bylethâs semi-canonical birthday beyond the one you choose is September 20th, which automatically makes them a Virgo and pairs up with some implications made in the academy phase that they have similarities personality traits to Edelgard.
The little circle with a dot in it represents your sun sign (base personality)
The tiny arrow represents your ascendant (outward personality/ what people might see when they first get to know you)
The baby moon represents your moon sign (feelings/ internal personality)
azure moon post-timeskip personal history, all recruits
 (azure moon spoilers, natch)
Summary above the cut, text from Personal History on Status Screen below the cut. The summary is only what information can be gleaned from maps and the Personal Histories, but itâs likely many characters travelled during the period, and itâs perfectly probable that few characters avoided combat the entire time, even where active battle isnât listed.
Summary:
Where people were for (most of) the timeskip:
Faerghus Loyalist Territories: Felix (Fraldarius), Sylvain (Gautier), Ingrid (Galatea), Gilbert (Fraldarius)
Faerghus Dukedom Territories: Annette (Dominic), Mercedes (Fhirdiad), Dimitri (Misc.), Dedue (Fhirdiad)
Empire: Linhardt (Hevring), Bernadetta (Varley)
Alliance:Â Note that Claude held the Alliance together comparatively well, marking this as not as prominent as the division of Faerghus into the Dukedom/Loyalists, and these are rough estimates based on dialogue in Azure Moon. Please feel free to supply corrections!
Pro-Imperial Regions: Lorenz (Gloucester), Lysithea (Ordelia)
Anti-Imperial Regions: Marianne (Edmund), Hilda (Goneril), Ignatz (unknown), Raphael (unknown)
Various: Church of Seiros (Catherine, Alois, Seteth, Flayn, Hanneman, Manuela, Shamir, Cyril), Leonie, Petra, Ferdinand, Dorothea, Caspar, Ashe
The arrows indicated that the Church of Seiros members were primarily searching in non-Empire-aligned regions of Faerghus and the Alliance.Â
What people were doing:
Helping family with governance: Ingrid, Annette, Lorenz, Lysithea, Marianne
Helping family with business; Mercedes, Ignatz
Fighting the Empire: Dimitri, Felix, Sylvain, Caspar, Petra, Gilbert
Searching for Rhea: Seteth, Flayn, Hanneman, Manuela, Shamir, Cyril, Alois, Catherine
Helping others: Dorothea
Hiding: Dedue
Wandering: Ferdinand
Mercenary work: Leonie
Unknown: Ashe
Running a restaurant/job searching: Raphael
As little as possible, apparently: Linhardt, Bernadetta, Hilda

fe3h room arrangements
So I was curious which unfortunate folks had to deal with sleeping near each other and decided to jot down the floor plan for the rooms. These are listed in order from the top of the map to the bottom, with stairs marked so that gaps between rooms are clear. Since the floors are stacked on top of each other, a character is presumably sleeping above/below the person with the corresponding number on the other floor (e.g., Sylvainâs room appears to be right above Bylethâs).Â

Misc. notes:Â
The âcommonersâ floor does have some noble children. Of them, only Linhardt and Bernadetta appear to be from families that arenât in some way in disgrace (unless I missed something in the lore somewhere).
Ignoring Byleth, male characters are always grouped together at the top of a floor and female characters at the bottom.
Within the divisions of gender and class, students are then grouped by house. Despite this, no section (that is, stair to stair/end of hall area) manages to be composed of only one house.
The Black Eagles come closest, however, as the middle section on both floors is four Black Eagles and a miscellaneous fifth. This makes the BEs the least intermingled in general, sitting stacked on top of each other in two groups of four.Â
Possibly as a result of all this, Hubert is the only vassal who gets to sleep beside their lord. Dedue is a commoner (but sleeps directly below Dimitri), and Hilda, as a girl, is kicked to the other side of noblesâ quarters. That said, Dedue would probably hear any attack from his location, and anyone wanting to get to Claude would at least have to pass Hilda first.
And Lorenz.Â
The only stairs are just beyond Leonieâs room; thereâs a second set of stairs beside Raphaelâs room, but we canât use them and there are no corresponding stairs beside Lorenzâs room.
Byleth: My boyfriend is too tall for me to kiss him on the lips. What should I do?
Felix: Punch him in the stomach. Then, when he doubles over in pain, kiss him.
Annette: Tackle him.
Sylvain: Dump him.
Ingrid: Kick him in the shin.
Dimitri: NO TO ALL OF THOSE. JUST ASK ME TO LEAN DOWN.
Ideologies of the three Lords
(spoilers for all routes)
Iâve heard some talk about ideologies and people not being sure who believes in what, so I wanted to do a little breakdown on the ideologies of the main lords based on 1) what their goals are and 2) what theyâre willing to do to achieve them. The reason I emphasize the second is because methodology is an essential part of ideology, especially with these three. A methodology is an ideological decision on what can be sacrificed and what canât for the sake of an end goal.
Short version:
Edelgard: Equality through force. Priority is eliminating influence of Crests and the Church.
*I use âforceâ instead of ârevolutionâ because revolution comes from within, which only covers her actions in Adrestia. Force, specifically military force, is required for her plans for the rest of FĂłdlan. See below for more.
Dimitri: Equality through reform. Priority is eliminating racial inequality and avoiding violent conflict.
Claude: Equality through diplomacy. Priority is unification and eradicating racial inequality.Â
In all, the Lords all have similar goals. Edelgard and Dimitri both agree that Crests are a problem. Dimitri and Claude both want to stop racial inequality. Edelgard and Claude both think the Church is a negative influence. While their main focuses are different, they have, for the most part, identified the same problems with FĂłdlanâs society and feel these need to be changed. Where they really distinguish themselves is in how they think change should be conducted.
Further, no Lord is explicitly what weâd identify as âleftâ- or ârightâ-wing in a contemporary framework. For example, all of them want equality, but how a person might define âequalityâ varies dramatically depending on your beliefs. Equality under Liberalism looks very different from equality under Communism, and we generally donât get the kind of information that would clarify what their positions are in these frames.
Except that Claude discusses free markets. Claude Fire Emblem: your only Lord with an economic policy.Â
NOTE: I like all of the Lords a lot. Like anyone, I have a favorite and my own opinions about their ideologies, but I love every Lord, am sympathetic to their perspectives, and tried very hard to be evenhanded in my descriptions of their points of view. This is not meant to hate on any of them. Please donât be nasty about them here.
