Thereâs no excuse for bullying.
âTheyâre weird!/Theyâre not normal!â
Thatâs your opinion, not a fact. What you really mean is âTheyâre not like meâ. Theyâre not hurting anyone by not being like you.
Again, itâs just your opinion, and theyâre not hurting anyone. Cringe culture is pointless anyway.
âTheyâre annoying!â
Once again, just your opinion. If you think someoneâs annoying, why not just stay away from them? No need to be rude.
âTheyâre autistic!â
Shame on you. Get out of my face.
âTheyâre fat!/Theyâre ugly!â
And youâre shallow. So what if you donât like the way someone looks? Itâs not your place to make them feel bad about it.
âTheyâre [any non-straight sexuality]!â
Get out of my sight. This is the 21st century.
âTheyâre just seeking attention!â
You donât know that for a fact. And even if they really are seeking attention, you donât have the right to shame them.
âItâs funny to pick on them!â
Shame on you if you think bullying is funny. Get a life.
âI was just joking around!â
Thatâs no excuse. There are other ways to have fun that donât involve putting other people down.
âWords canât actually hurt anyone!â
Wrong. Words do hurt, and sometimes they can hurt more than actual physical injury.
âIâm not a bully, theyâre just too sensitive!â
Not everyone reacts the same way. If you werenât so rude, there wouldnât be anything for the victim to be âsensitiveâ about.
âIâm just speaking the truth!â
Honesty is great. But you can be honest and say what you think without being rude about it. Thereâs a fine line between âbrutally honestâ and 'downright rudeâ.
âI have freedom of speech!â
You do. But if youâre using your 'freedom of speechâ to bully and shame others, then youâre abusing it.
I donât care what 'reasonâ you pull out of your ass to try to justify bullying, itâs invalid. Bullying, whatever the reason is, is unnecessary, cruel, and totally pointless.
If you bully someone, youâre basically telling them:
âYou donât deserve to be happyâ
âYouâre inferior to meâ
âYour feelings are a jokeâ
Is that really what you want to be telling people?
Is that really how you want to make people feel?
