“Weell, I just thought you really liked to run an obsessive amount. But now that I think about it, you do run way too much. It’s almost unhealthy,” Ember stated ironically. “Okay..” she started slowly.”But thank God you don’t have to go out to drink with me, huh. Now, where’s the wine?”
“It’s really not that bad. Maybe you should join me someday, and you’ll see what I mean,” she joked with a quick wink. “Oh, you know I’m only teasing you. But there’s some in the wine rack, usual spot.”
“What does it even mean to be an adult?” Sawyer thought out loud. “Is there a definin’ moment in your life or is it just thrust upon you? Is it age? Is it… is it attitude?”
“Why do I already feel like this is going to be an absolute shit show?” Cecelia said with a laugh. The two of them partying together was always a recipe for disaster, but honestly, she was looking forward to it. “God, I’m going to be such a lightweight. I’ve made the executive decision to crash at your place too, if that’s okay.”
“You know, I’m really offended that you already think it’s going to be a mess. It may be true, but aren’t you supposed to be my friend and tell me things like ‘I can already tell this is going to be the greatest party I’ve ever been to,’” Ali teased. “Of course you can crash at my place. You know you can always crash with me.”
“I should be able to. I’ve never had a problem before.” She was looking forward to Alison’s party. It had been so long since she really let loose and had some fun. “Pizza and rum? Are you trying to make me fat? That’s a deadly combination.”
“No, I’m trying to enjoy all the food that I haven’t been able to because of training, and you deserve a night to let loose for once.”
“Damn… we’ve been neighbors for how long now, and we are like total strangers or something. Wait, so does this mean you officially can’t drink any alcohol anymore until it’s done?”
“You really didn’t know that I did triathlons? I’m constantly running,” she said with a laugh. “Oh, god, no, I can still drink, I just shouldn’t be binge drinking aka I probably shouldn’t go out drinking with you.”
“I would love to, but I just have to make sure I can find a sitter for Harlow first,” she replied. Her daughter would always be her first priority. “What all do you have planned for it?”
“Okay, well I’ll pray that you find a sitter, because I can’t host a party without you,” she teased. “A lot of pizza washed down with a lot of rum.”
“I thought I heard my name being called when you said wine,” Ember said dryly. “Why not just skip the race and three weeks part and get to the wine and cake right now?”
“It makes the wine and cake more satisfying. Plus I didn’t train for five months to give up three weeks out.”
“And I’m taking you out for tacos, because you deserve it” Cecelia said with a laugh. “Seriously, I’m going to be your biggest fan at your race, though, so get ready to be embarrassed.”
“Oh god, I can’t wait! Will you cohost my after party?”
“How fucking lucky for you…-” he almost groaned, simply bitter about the life he’d never been able to have and the fact that he could barely afford a meal sorta didn’t sit well with him. “Unless you’re planning on giving me a slice of cake, I gotta say I don’t care too much sweetheart.”
“I was going to but you are kind of being a dick so....”
Is that (HAYDEN PANETTIERE) I just saw walking around (WICKER PARK)? No, that’s just (ALISON DOTTING) a (28) year old (TEACHER). He has been in Chicago for (A YEAR AND A HALF).
About Alison:
Alison was born in Connecticut, the second of four siblings
She is a high school math teacher, teaching algebra and precalculus
Was an All American swimmer and runner in high school and college, which eventually led her to getting into triathlons
Married her college boyfriend a year after college, but she found him cheating on her less than a year later
Young, divorced, and not wanting to move back in with her parents, her best friend invited her to move in with her for a bit. That’s how Alison ended up in Chicago.
She fell in love with Chicago quickly. She found a job, made a few friends, and really felt like she was starting to pick her life back up
Her husband was her first really serious relationship, and his betrayal was very difficult for her to get over, and she still has a lot of trouble dating because of it
She is one of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet. She’s the person you go to when you need something, because you know she’ll always help you.
Possible Connections:
Best friend: friend that brought her to Chicago
Neighbor: She lives in Wicker Park, and she is the type to get to know her neighbors. She’s the neighbor you go to when you need a cup of sugar
Bad influence: Although she’s always well behaved, she has one friend that always gets her in trouble: handing her an extra drink, taking her to parties/clubs, etc.
