The Subway Diaries
Part 4
I look at her and I feel empty. I remember when I first saw her too, which makes this hollow feeling so unfamiliar, so unsettling. She had a flower as her book mark and was sipping tea when she looked up at me, with hair as black as ink but eyes as blue as a glacier. She’s given me my most enthralling experiences and shown me the world. I learned to believe in God as I trailed my fingers across her skin and saw the sun make shapes across her back as she lay beside me.
But what if I just can’t make myself believe anymore?

The Subway Diaries
Part 3
I can’t help it. The thoughts. I wonder if it’s because I grew up without a mother, but that thought is quickly pushed aside. Plenty of people who grew up without a mom turned to much more publicly accepted crimes than mine. No. Because sometimes, I even I like the way I think, I like to see the fear in their eyes. It makes me feel strong, powerful. I knows that it’s wrong, but how can something that makes me feel so complete, be so wrong? Maybe society needs to change. Maybe those girls should have just listened.
But then again, what would my wife say if she knew I was doing it to our daughter too?
The Subway Diaries Part Two Maybe it wasn't working out. This internship. This relationship. This city. Maybe my dad was right when he called me "good for nothing" and someone who was "never going to achieve greatness". Maybe I should pack up. I could be gone from this place in a few hours...Mom would welcome me home and I could get a job at dad's shop, maybe even take over the business like he had planned before I left. I could leave her behind because in all honesty, I don't even know if I love her. I could do it. I could walk away. But what would that make me?
The Subway Diaries
Part One
She was nervous. She was always some form of nervous. After all, anxiety ran in her family. She clutched her bag close as her eyes skimmed the other passengers. She was withdrawn within herself, thinking of how her sister was wanting her to get back into the dating scene after the divorce.
But a subway wasn’t really the place to go looking for a new guy, now was it?
